    • Haha Fred! I can't drag this project/thread out forever!

So what makes ai's cam so superior? Is there that much if a difference over LE's?

Me neither, I understand what's what but I don't know if more or less of something (duration, lift) would produce more or less power. These cams seem gosh darn close. I'm not looking for the perfect setup because if I was I would be putting a ms4 in the 99 but in this situation I really don't see the AI making that moloch amazing power compared to the LE. At least not $115 extra. IMO

            I'm open to opinions

            • The 17x11s didn't have a chance in hell of fitting on the rear. BFH?

It looks goofy not A) being lowered B) no motor C) tires arent the correct size for the wheels.

              • the cam from AI is going to be to be alittle more sluggish than the LE cam if i where in your position i would purchase the LE cam. it will respond better to bolt-ons later down the road. i only go to AI for there heads and if i need a cam i go to LE. Loyde knows his cam shafts.

Ok cool! I'm was hoping to order it this weekend or sometime next week. My block should be done soon and next he will need the cam. Any more opinions?

                      • Sent the money order out for the cam!!!

Has anyone been following the "dirty bird" project in the gm high tech performance magazine? I am thinking of looking into the individual coils like the LS1. They claim it's just as expensive as a new opti.

                          Depends what Opti you buy.

You have to mod your own wire harness but its possible.

IMO throw a opti on there and drive it.

                          • Actually will cost more because you have a 93. you need spark position sensor on crank 96 timing cover, and and a fair amount of ecm rewiring. The bigger advantage for you is you will have to upgrade your ecm so you can get street tuned instead or guess work prom burn. I believe threehonks did this on here.

                            • I'm a bit upset with the used hood I bought. I was looking at it today and on the backside it's creased in the middle, up by the cowl. I looked at mine and it wasnt like that. I snapped some pics. Ill post the up in a few.

Also I put the heater core box bolts back in. I have decided to keep the ac

                              • I was looking into the LS1 PCM also, and even though it is loads better, it is nowhere near the cost of an opti. All together, you should be looking at at-least $1000
