  • I took it out for a test drive today!

    Only a few minor issues.
The seat belts I got wont buckle into the buckles I bought. I had to swap back over to my stock buckle?
My abs in op light kept flashing, ss spoiler issue?Speedo is way off. I'll have to dick around with the Dakota box
I could of sworn there were a few more minor issues.

Going in around 10am to wet sand and rub it.

3.42s was a HUGE upgrade. Rolling burnout, no problem lol.

Talked to the gfs dad. He said give him the wheels and he is going to have weldcraft do them. So tomorrow ill have to take off the rears and have discount dismount them.

        Thanks Nick!

I am up in the air of getting the rear 10 spokes widened. If so, I need to do it ASAP. So I can get them back quicker. I just hate the prices of 315s.

I think my alternator might not be working to the fullest. What should my gauge be at? Is it possible to have my belt too tight? Some pully is cherping.

Just a tip, make sure the both caliper bolts are tight before test drive. The right rear caliper bolt fell out in my driveway yesterday. Long story short I limped it back down the driveway and found a bolt to put in. Found the original bolt halfway down the drive. Tht could of been bad!

        • There is definately something wrong with the charging system. My battery is relitavily new.

^^ this pic is from today. Should be higher shouldn't it? I have a reman genco (junkco) alternator. It was just replaced.

My belt is new and my tensioner is new. I also am running an a/c delete pulley (aftermarket). The belt is very very tight. Maybe the alternator is junk already? My pillar gauge says my volts is around 12.8ish. Shouldn't I be in the 13s while driving?

Also, I think I might have a caliper issue. Maybe one catching up some how. Something is making a grinding noise at a slow roll.

          • Yes should be between 13 to low 14s when driving. Got an AMP tong?

It will tell you if the alternator is pumping amps.

I did a little bit of googling. Pretty sure my belt is too tight. Probably cheapest easiest fix is to get a longer belt.

              • O.o pretty sure a tight belt won't make the alternator charge the battery.

When I did my AC delete I got the GM pulley and I needed no belt change.
Just took her for another spin and she was at 14.1v on Datamaster.

                • What kind of battery too? If it's an optima, that's probably your problem...

Not sure on specific brand. But I know it isn't an optima, big waste of money.

                    • Optimas use to be good. Now they are garbage.

Any parts store battery will do.

                      http://compare.ebay.com/like/3703794...Types&var=sbar

                      Amp clamp.

                      1. Check the alternator amperage Disconnect the voltmeter and connect an amperage meter (if you aren't using a multi-meter) to your battery the same way as you connected the voltmeter. Turn on all the electrical equipment in the car: lights, stereo, wipers and everything else you can. Let the engine idle at around 1200 rpm. Check your car's manual or parts manual to see what your alternator's maximum amperage should be. The amp reading on your meter should be near the maximum output. A 90-amp alternator will output approximately 88 amps. If your amperage is too low, then you probably need a new alternator [source: 2CarPros].

                      • My optima yellow top is the best battery ive ever bought. Ive killed it dead more than 20 times and it has been in and out of 6 different cars now, plus it jumped my dead boat over summer by tipping the battery upside down ontop of the boat battery. And ive had some high amp cars in the past with subs and accessory lights. Best $250 i ever spent and its a 800cca. I will never buy any other battery and if i do it will at least be deep cycle.

                        • Yes deep cycle batteries are the best.

How long ago did you buy the Optima?

                            • Yeah back then they were better.

I believe I heard they moved production to Mexico and quality went bye bye, just selling them on the name.
