Got the SFC's in today.



Picked up a new longer belt today. Going to throw that on. Then see if it will fix the charging issue.

Also bought a relay for the SS spoiler / abs issue.

So, I was investigating my charging issue. Tried different belts, didn't change anything.

My little wire that plugs into the connector for the alternator is only pushing out 8.9 volts. Any idea why? I checked to see if it was rubbing anywhere and it wasn't. Ideas?

edit: checked my friends 96 1500 and he had 11 volts.

sound plausible? I powdercoated my accessory bracket.

Sounds plausible to me. Actually, I'm gonna have to check that on mine now too, lol. I painted my alternator case and am running a relocation bracket.

Sounds very plausible. Sounds like if you powdercoat the accessory bracket that you have to file down the mounting points because it gets the ground through the engine ground points.

YELLOW TOP OPTIMA!!!! I even checked mine is made in Mexico(so the mith they went to shit once being made there is false) and has outlasted 5 cars and i've killed it dead several times and ive let it sit in the camaro thru 3 winters! I also did a load test on it today and it passed with 100%!! Hands down the best battery on the market that is reasonably priced!!!
