    • The new timing chain he put on. Any ideas if its good? I would assume it is...

      bored .030 over

I picked up some hi temp engine paint. Its aluminum in color. This should make my engine lighter right? Since its aluminum?

Thinking of cleaning it up and spraying it down tonight.

      Got the rear bumper off.

I think it was hit in the rear at one point. The sail panel was polo green at one point.

Sorry for the shit pics i left the camera in my girlfriends car... fml

        • Are you using an electric water pump? Not to knock him but that block doesn't look very cleaned up.

            No, getting a new stocker.

I'm in the middle of degreasing the block right now. First coat of silver is about to be sprayed.

He claims he was going to "clean it up" but IMO it doesn't look like he did shit...

Here is how she looks now!

Is this why you ask? Because the waterpump driveshaft isn't in? Can I still put it in without taking the timing chain and gears off?

Also, it's hard to tell if he put a new rear main seal on. The gasket between the housing and block is new but I'm unsure about the seal. Do I need to take the housing off in order to get the new rear main seal on or off? My old one leaked like a ***** and I don't want that issue again.

                  • the water pump drive gear asm is at top of block and partially behind cam big drive gear. FYI Also noticed pin drive on cam I thought 93-94 had spline drive for opti. Check you old opti, you can use what you have but may have to buy 95-97 opti which is better because they are vented.

Yeah that's why I was wondering. I don't know if you're able to fit it in there or not without taking the gears off. It's only 3 bolts though.

I'd take the housing off to get that rear main. It will give you extra leverage to slide it of the crank when you go to put it on.

thanks for the heads up, I'll have to check after work. I don't know why Lloyd would send one from that time frame.

                            • This is the closest clip I can find of how she will sound. Although this camaro in the clip has .585/.585 lift it's on a 113 lsa. Also not the same exhaust I'll have.

This is the parts washer I'm going to get. The girlfriend wanted to get it for me for Christmas but I ruined the surprise and guessed what it was. Plus I'll need it before then.

                              • Found out today that he DID change the rear seal. Hope to pick up a new oil pump and oil pan gasket this week.

EDIT: may be a dumb question but how can I put the windage tray on? It seems like the arp main bolts are different from the old stockers...

2nd edit... With a little more research 3 of the main bolts are suppose to be ones with studs for windage tray. I'm f**king pissed! Wouldn't the arp main bolts come with them?
