Shit happens Mike - I just think I'm asking to much out this junkyard trans.
On the motor it was fine, 100 it was fine - 150 = it was pissed off.

Sorry to see your having problems Jermey. 220 degrees shouldn't be enough to make the fluid smell at all. Sounds like you have something going on inside of that trans for sure.

Personally I think the trans is slipping in high gear. It's fine for a 100 shot, but the 150 shot only picked up 1 mph in the 1/4. It was up almost 1.5 in the 1/8.
Ricky if you are serious - we might be able to work something out.
I'm 99% sure I can de-pin the harness.
So I've got everything you'd need - minus the trans. I'm sure I cooked the clutches.
Shoot me a pm.

So whats the conclusion on why it keeps overheating? Wanna sell it all

Well - trans still overheated on a 50* day. 220 degrees - cooked the fluid pretty good.
It got hot enough to fall over to the hot wot shift tables
Cooler has a fan on it - and it didn't make any difference.
Lines aren't long enough to front mount the cooler.
Converter worked better.
Time to put it storage for the winter and save my pennies for a clutch. The t56 needs at minimum a input bearing. I'd like to faceplate it, but I don't know if I'll have the cash.

PTC has a 1 month restall policy - but the are pretty laid back about it. I had mine 2 months and they said if it doesn't work this time, they'll do it again for free - if I'm willing to pull it again. If I wait until spring it's $75.
If it works out as planned - i'll be out of gear on a 150 anyways

That nitrous outlet standalone is a pretty sweet looking deal. Put some c16 in it and push that stock bottom endOriginally posted by Nocooler View PostLol - 200 is as far as I'll push it on pump gas. Next year if I have a standalone fuel system and with some octane in it, I might venture further.
How is ptc on there restall policy? I have a feeling fti is gonna screw me cause my car has sat for a year cause money issues and not restall it. I havent ran it but I think its gonna be to high. Might go back to ptc if they don't work with me

Sucks about your converter - mine feels better already. Seems to flash higher and but is tighter driving around. But we'll see on Sunday.
Debating which jets to start with....probably make a pass on 200 then immediately go 250 make a couple hits. If all is well I'll swap the bottle/plugs pull some timing and go 300
fixed that for you

You must live out in the country like me! Loud exhaust or no exhaust normal....conv just slipped would never Couple on dyno...took it to the track u couldn't even hear the car shift! Just blew right threw it...this was after they tightened it up twice...Originally posted by Nocooler View PostJim - sorry about you luck with FTI - what was it doing?
Car survived the 1 mile test drive......neighbors must have been impressed: exhaust uncorked and on slicks

Hope it works better then that FTI I had.....They had it twice and couldn't get it right. Replaced it with a YANK....never again FTI wasted a lot of time and money with them with very poor resultsOriginally posted by Nocooler View PostTrans is in - just need to install the starter and drive shaft and I'll be ready to put some fluid in it and test
