Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

My Saturn was having random misfire at low rpms, also had 217k miles on her. I drive 100 miles a day to work so instead of dealing with it anymore. Traded her in and bought a 2012 Chevy Cruze. So the out of pocket cost and now having a loan payment has put a slight damper on my project.
Whats more important than that is in May I will have to quit my job to go to training for a better job for 5 weeks unpaid. So I have to save up enough money to go 7 weeks without a pay check. (5 weeks plus 2 weeks to get first pay check). This is what really threw a wrench into the gears.

Put it this way, if you have a money tree a LT1 is a wood chipper!
Here is just a quick picture. I haven't decided on a name for her yet.
Also I am putting new valves in the Camaro, since I am 95% positive I fried and exhaust valve. So I am going to drop in some Manley 1.94" and 1.5" valves. Now I should change out the seals while I am at it, but do I need to change out the spring retainers or anything else? The valvetrain will be changed later but this is so I can at least enjoy the car for the first part of summer.
Also on my QTP cut outs it says to use orange RTV to seal the mating surface. Now orange RTV is only rated up 650 and red is up to 700. Should I just get the red rtv?

Sucks about the new financial burden - but great choice on a vehicle! 1.8 or 1.4 Turbo?
1.8. It's just a base model with connectivity package. I got it for a little over 15k with custom paint, the Eco I could only get for just under 18k I couldn't swing the extra money. I get average 32mpg and when doing 55 I'll get over 40mpg. Under 30 I can get over around 50mpg. Yes it's a six speed like her big sister my Camaro.

I am going to order valves. They are going to be Manley Budget valves (I will be doing head work when I can). Question is I selected stock valves, and the intake are 1.94, .341 stems, 4.880 length. The exhaust are 1.5, .341, 4.911 length. Is that right?
