I am open to suggestions. Also about the Dana 60 since I know that is gonna draw some interest. Yes Ford 9in is a great rear end but I refuse to put a Ford product under my Chevy.

This project is probably going to be close to a 5 year project.

Complete opposite opinion here, I love those clear corners. Niteshaded amber corners would just look dirty.

If I remember right the S60 weighs a ton and is a huge powersuck, besides that it's really expensive. Which is why I'm going 8.8 eventually.

if you don't want a ford product just go with the Moser M90 The S60 like vinnie said is heavier and robs more power than a 9" anyways.

Yeah, the Dana 60 is a beefy mother****er.

Suck it up and throw a 9" under there.

It's not the end of the world.

A s60 weighs like 25-50 more then the 10 bolt. It robs like 6% compared to a 9 that robs like 10%

But why not just build an 8.8?

search tech nobody on there has an S60 that weighs less than a 9", even with a iron center section the 9"is right around 200lbs. The S60 come in at 225 or more every time. The nice stuff like MWC of M9 can be made lighter than a 10 bolt. Car craft did a test of a 12 bolt, S60, and a 9" and they were all withing 6rwhp of one another with the 12 bolt being best and the 9" losing the most power. I would hardly call that much to argue about.

I could care less what you put under your car, just have heard this debate recently and wanted to make sure good information was being passed along. Either rear will take the abuse end of story.

if youre worried about that axle, IMO you should be putting a cage in it to stiffen the chasis as well. FWIW Im twisting my quarter panels up even with subframe connectors and my 10 bolt is still alive and well.
