Thanks. Do you know if the insides are the same? Did it have to do with the OBD II change over?

Wow, not sure how I missed this thread, but nice ride Nate, Congrats!!

What's wrong with the key fob?? Is it just not working?? Have you tried holding the lock and unlock buttons at the same time while in/near the veh until you hear the locks cycle?? Sometimes when you replace the batteries it needs to be reset. It could be that it's not even programmed for the car, if so I have a write-up somewhere of how to reprogram a new fob to the car, I can dig it out and let you know that process.....Shit now that I think of it, I may have seen that posted on here somewhere once too.

Are you programming the key or the fob???

Just thought id let you know, if the factory alarm is armed (either by the fob, or the door lock button) the only way to disarm is by the key fob, or by putting the key in the ignition and turn it to ON. If you open the door with the key you have 10 seconds to disarm the alarm(with the key) before it goes off. Just FYI.

Whats the difference between the old and new style fobs?

those keyfobs are so hit/miss. The one on my 99 worked perfect, the one on my truck... well lets just say i dont even bother and skip right to the key.

Agreed. 45 min to swap hatches or hours and hundreds of dollars on the other one.
Going to be picking up some other stuff too. And maybe some black plastic paint..

Hope you get that fob issue worked out. Mine didn't come with one and I think my car already has the max amount programmed to it. If the battery is disconnected for a long time don't all the fobs have to be reprogrammed to the car? Maybe I got a dud.

                                Used to own a Firebird.
