Ok, now that sounds a little extreem, lol. The most i ever got was a whooosh sound and a little pressure when pulling the cap. Wow, that would be scary. Eric L
it was blowing for 10 minutes??? Lol I think that would take an act of God.
Im not even kidding. It sounds stupid, but it was, and even when I got back in the car, I left the gas cap off and I could see fumes comming from it in my mirror. And when I pulled over like 10-15 mins later, I could still hear and feal blowing. I didnt think that was even possible. i thought for sure it would just all poor out within 30 seconds.
Done with the car for the night. Got the hatch swapped. Car is now "me" and not the previous owner. Next week we will do the brakes and drivers window issues.
Anyone need a hatch? crappy tint and orange painted stripe - come and get it.

Nate like a lot of people have said get the fan control fixed. I put 160* thermostate and have mine set to turn on at 160 -175. I just read that if you hard wire or do a switch that on the highway the speed of the fans actually impede the air flow and your engine can run hotter. On a 2 fan system the second fan turn on when engine hits certain temp and/or when A/C is on. shbox.com give you wire detail on doing the hi/low fan switch. If you have a 3 relay fan set up I can give you an easy jumper to do that turns the fans on with the ignition switch. I ran my car that way till I replaced the head gasket and fixed it right last fall, it was jerry riged when I bought it. Now it stays constant and I have not seen a need for the switch. B's car with the build is also set up with the tune like mine and runs very cool. no issues.
To fix that temp sensor you have to drain the coolant some below that level, get a 160 * thermostate and put that in at same time.

interesting, on my car i am pretty sure i only have one temp sensor... maybe im wrong?
there are 2 sensors, one on the water pump on right side as you face it, that operates the gauge, and one on the engine block drivers side, that one turns on the fans.

I plan to fix the one in the head, but do you realize how the SLP switch works? It allows me to turn the fans on early if i want, but it still lets the computer control the fans so if I forget they come on like they would otherwise. Its plug and play. At no time should the fans be on when I am on the highway. 70mph should produce enough airflow and cooling to keep the motor sub 200 deg F. Took a gamble that the switch would work, appears it will.
