Since thats the case then I wouldnt do it the way mine are but he could run the low speed fans into a kill switch and only turn it on when needed. I didnt realize they had "two" fans or two speeds, my good old thirdgen has one fan at one speed

try the AC trick in your driveway first. Let it start warming up and switch it on - it should start cooling back off. primary fan is pretty quiet - secondary screams though. It will work for now, we can do the switch eventually.-Joel

This is where the hood pins were. You can tell but you would have to know they were there.

Before anyone freeks out, it needs something in here

This is the clip that is broken. Headers are not stainless as i thought..idk why I did. And the EGR hook up needs to be done right.

I wouldn't risk messing up the factory wiring any more than it already is, especially if you're not sure where all the modules are, etc. Besides, alarms can be useful. Just go onto eBay, buy a fob. They come with instructions on how to program the fob's frequency to your car.Originally posted by nascarnate326 View PostAlso set off my own car alarm some how. How do I kill that feature?

Im guessing the hood quality is just poor, or the prep work was poor. They are very small but there never the lessOriginally posted by JoeliusZ28 View Posti thought the hood was just repainted, why are there cracks?

I would fix the fans the right way. It looks as if the temp sensor in teh head is cracked. Buy one from autozone and fix it right. Manual fan switches in daily drivers are not a good idea. Get some tuning software and set your fans to come on earlier, and if you still dont like the temp in traffic, turn your defroster or a/c on. But my advice would be, since its an easy fix, fix it right, dont butcher it with a switch. Besides, once you start playing with tuning software, you'll have so much fun with it. Its like setting your timing and jetting your carb without opening the hood and geting your hands dirty, lol. As for the key fob, i have a couple spares around if you would want to try them, I could send them home with Jon or something. Hope this helps, Eric L

Heck, fwiw, when i had the procharger on my 97, i had the fans set to turn on at around 190 and 210 and the car ran cool as a cucumber all summer long. I have found that when working with a mild late model car, the kiss theory works suprisingly well. Im working switcher this week from 3pm till 11, so ill check back in when i get home tonite, Good luck, Eric L

Yeah, I didnt catch the gas cap thing, they all do it, its part of having a sealed return style fuel system. If it DOSENT do that, than you have a problem. Like a pinhole in a vent hose to the fuel can or something, and it will throw a code. Eric L

Nate I agree with Eric on the sensor for the Fans, just get a new sensor. It looks like a coolant temp sensor which don't cost much and then you won't have to rig anything up.
As far as that hood is concerned I had that hood on my 94 Z that I did the LS1 swap with that ran E85. It's made with true fiber fiberglass will crack like crazy. When I had mine I lowered the hood down and then gently pushed it down to shut to try to keep mine from cracking.
But anyways nice look car and I'm sure you turn it into a great car. And congrats on finally getting a V8. I'll need to start modding my G8 so you don't beat me with your LT1
