Okay so I got the windage tray main bolt sitiuation figured out. I guess arp didn't start making the windage tray bolts until recently. I must have gotten an old box. Guys since then have been running stock bolts on the 3 windage tray ones. So my buddy works at the local chevy dealer get me 3 new stockers.

I just ordered (don't hate) a "how to rebuild LT1/LT4 engines" off amazon. I'd like to have another reference.
I have read to torque the main bolts to 77ft lbs and 80ft lbs. Can anyone verify this? I tried contacting the shop with no luck. I'm doing the rest on my own. I am not going to take my block back there to sit around for 3 months!
Should I use any type of locktite?
Does anyone have a pic of the driveshaft for the waterpump?
I had a dream lastnight that I started this up. I'm anxious now!
Thanks all!2002 Z28 Camaro A4

When you get the book from amazon there should be a picture. the assemble is a gear that meshes to cam shaft inside the block then has a bearing and a plate to hold it and a splined shaft to mate with water pump drive coupler. This assemble goes above large cam drive sprocket and partially behind it. You can probably loosen the 3 bolts on cam holding large sprocket enough to get this inplace (note timing marks on small and large chain sprockets for cam)sigpic

Well I picked up a used EWP for real cheap today.
As many are against used valvetrain, I'm going to be that guy. After this car is all said and done I'm still looking at ~$3,000.
Can you post up some top brands of valve springs, pushrods, rr's that I should get? I think im going to get brand new lifters tho.
Got a guy that has a set of crane gold 1.6 rr's fir $115 shipped. Should I get them?
Also, is my lift specs in my cam based on 1.6 or 1.7 roller rockers?2002 Z28 Camaro A4

I used red Loctite on my main studs. I just put Isky Gold Endurance springs on my heads. They aren't as well of a known name as Comp, but they are still quality parts. Buy LS7 lifters as that will be the most cost effective. I run the Crane Gold 1.6 re's. You would have to check your cam card to see what rockers they base the specs off of. Most use 1.5.2015 Silverado

The k member is in it so I can roll it around.Originally posted by nascarnate326 View PostWhats the car look like at this point? Is it put back together just waiting for a motor?
Both bumpers are off, I don't want to start the body work until she can move under her own power. Then a buddy and I are going to knock out the bodywork one week then get it painted at work on a weekend.
Interior wise I just need a headliner and a dash pad. Other than that it's all back together.2002 Z28 Camaro A4

That is a good deal on the Cranes. I paid $300 new I believe for mine a couple years back.Originally posted by mcalus View PostI just looked at the cam card. It's based off 1.6 rr's.

Those springs look cheap dude, they're only singles. Look into those Iskys I told you about. I think mine were $170 with spring, retainers and keepers. I don't have stock heads though so I don't know what the difference would be.
You could weld the top hole I suppose. The people who owned my Firebird before me installed an electric water pump and they just let the water pump drive stick out of the hole.2015 Silverado

I recommend PAC1218s beehives. Thats what i have and ive had no issues in 10k miles. PAC used to be the supplier for Comp... in years past 1218s were what comp sold as 918s before comp got cheap.-Joel
