Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Next question, since I can't decide what turbo parts to buy, do I go with a stall and suspension or stall and gears? Or gears and suspension?
Is there a stall I can get now that will be usable for the turbo as well?
I have 2.73 gears currently Should I get some stock 3.42s or 3.73s? Will a 3.73 be too much for the turbo?

I don't know Transmissions really. But if you plan on swapping a T-56 in, I wouldn't putting money in the auto trans. I would be on the lookout for a t56 and grab it now. And do the swap over the winter if you can, and sell the auto.
3.42s would work groovy too.
My vote is suspension/gears, although do what you like!
The t56 swap I can have done in a weekend. It's gathering the parts that is time consuming and costly.
I made some spray outs for the 2 variances of my paint. Ha.... this will be fun. In the shade neither match for crap. I'm gonna see if I can get lucky and mix both together and see what I come up with. One is standard (to red and dark) the other is yellower (which is to yellow and orange).
I got the spoiler scratches primed. I'll reprime the whole spoiler and block it before spraying. First I need to get this color down.

Ahhh, that sucks. I can imagine this color will be a fun one to match.
On that note, any chance when you're done with those samples you could drop them in the mail to me? I'll be needing some paint work in the not too distant future too and it would be nice to see if either of those variations happen to match mine.

I sure can. Paint manufactures all vary with how many variations they have. I'll be keeping track of how I tint these colors to get something to work. Real world I should be blending the quarters and hatch but right now these 2 colors I have are barely blendable. I'll be spraying the whole car sooner than later but I'd like to get the spoiler on and possibly paint the front bumper.

I read through this thread. Sounds like a nice build so far. I will give my opinion based on my experiences with turbo builds. I started out on mustangs, but i am sure the same principles will apply.
Personally I would keep the auto. At your power level (600 rwhp) It should hold up no problem. I do not know if you do any drag racing, but we have seen as much as .8 to 1 second quicker elapsed times with the auto over the stick. When the stock auto goes you can either rebuild it or swap to the 4l80 and turn up the boost. A converter would be a great meantime mod. I would do around 3k stall. it should be right about where the turbo spools with a typical ls1 application. Plus it will make it more fun in the meantime NA. If you do change to a 4l80 the converter will not work, so keep that in mind while budgeting.
There isn't much you can do that would be money well spent as far as the stock 10 bolt goes. It will break. Just keep that in mind while saving up a couple grand for an upgrade. There are several options s60, 12 bolt, 9 inch, its all in the budget and what your goals are.
Suspension will be money well spent. I am sure the turbo kit requires or at least recommends a k member upgrade. I would do that along with your choice of struts and upgrade the rear. Possibly starting with lca's and moving on to panhard bar, torque arm and so on. Have a solid goal in mind when doing your suspension. Whats good for the strip isn't always good for the street.
If anyone has any input on this feel free to correct me. I am just posting my past experiences. Possibly someone else has better advice.
I am right around the corner so feel free to pm if you need any help or assistance with any repair you don't feel confident in doing.
If I swap to the 6 speed it's on account of having more fun with it. Not super worried about track times. As far as the rear end goes I'll build an 8.8 or get one built before I spend the ungodly amount on a 9", 12 bolt or s60.
Haha. I have been real busy at work but I have been messing with the color. So far the far right is the closest as its a 50 50 mix with standard and yellower. I need to kill it with some black as the color is still a bit bright.

Yes and no. I'm glad I never had opti issues.
I was at the point with that car that I would have had to dump some serious money into it to really get it the way I wanted to (boosted, ttops, mint interior, plug on coil etc)

I have been thinking of what route to go and how far to take this build. This time around I am thinking of doing an on3 7875 or on3 7675, xs power wastegate, stock heads, tubular k, fuel pump, 80lb injectors, tune, done.
Drive it that way awhile the wedding is past and I can have some more cash to spend.
Later, build a 5.3, e85, tubular upper and lower a arms, 317 heads, bigger turbo and better wastegate.
I need to know when to call it quotes or this will be a really expensive build vs just expensive lol.
Suggestions?
