Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Jeremy I would only do those wheels if you plan to paint the inside of the spokes white. IMO to keep "the look" of the car intact it should have white wheels still.
Here's a picture of a guy from earlythirdgen who put white 17' Firehawk wheels on his car. Looks pretty good too.........

I'm having the same problem. And those that do say "gotta have" come with a very hefty price tag.
That is a good point! I plan on keeping the car mostly original with a few tasteful mods, keeping the wheels white is probably not a bad idea, just not a huge fan of the stock 16" wheels haha!
the only thing I have going for me about wheels is that I have a buddy who can get me most anything at wholesale price.
I don't blame you for wanting to upgrade the wheels a little. Looks-wise it would benefit from having a taller wheel, but it has to be in keeping with the anniversary theme.....I had thought about having my extra set of 4th Gen Speedline wheels painted white to put on that car.
I have someone offering to sell me a 5.3 that they pulled from a 2003 Tahoe with 88k miles on it. its a complete engine with wiring harness and computer.. only problems it has is 1) no starter and 2) missing one exhaust manifold bolt. he is asking $800 for it and lives about 2 hours away from me..
$800 is more than I wanted to pay.. but the mileage is nice..
im going to try and pick it up for $600 I think.. does that sound reasonable?
Put $600 in one pocket and the extra $200 in the other pocket. So when you show up be like, "Will you take $600 cash?" Then you reach into your pocket and pull on the bills. Make sure its all $100's, preferably wadded up.
On another note, the t56 is going to cost you an arm and a leg. So try and get the price down on this as much as you can.

I talked to the guy last night, he needs a distributor which I so happen to have.. so he is going to trade me the engine for my distributor and $300 cash which ends up only being about $600.. which seems like a really good deal.
yea.. the T-56 will be a little pricey.. but I've seen them go for like 1200.. so I just need to sit and wait haha!
Find out why the exhaust manifold bolt is missing. If I remember correctly some of the 5.3s had problems with the exhaust manifold bolts breaking off. If the seller has tried to remove the bolt without success I'd shy away (meaning he in some-way messed up the threads in the head.). If it's broken off and still in the head I wouldn't be as concerned, it'll just require some cautious work getting it out.
I wonder why he didnt put it in that rs.. did he give you a reason for sale? Im guessing since he is taking a partial trade on the dist he is going gen 1
