    • But they will be cheap! Honestly they were the best upgrade I've made to my IROC, but now I've gone to huge brakes

        • So I am placing my order to get my interior stuff put together..

          -front/back carpet set
-SEM primer/dye (still figuring out which color I need to order)
-POR-15 - small can to take care of a few small floor board rust spots under the carpet

also picking up a new alternator and power steering pump (both of which are bad) power steering pump leaks something terrible when new fluid is put in and the alternator was the cause of my electrical draining issue.

should be swapping the transmission soon too! I'll be having a lot of updates when work actually starts happening!

side note.. I'm assuming my heater core is bad since its not hooked up, do you guys recommend me replacing it now since the interior is already apart or should I wait to replace it when I start digging into all the wiring for my LSx swap?

          • I'd replace it while you have easy access, aren't they about $40? Cheap insurance...have a heater core spring a leak is NOT fun.

that's what I was saying above.. its not even hooked up.. the hose lines for it are gone so its just chilling.. not being used at all currently so no worries of it leaking

              • I meant do it now (with interior out) instead of later.

                • Why do people complain about the heater core and all the work involved? I think I had mine out in 20 lol

                        • small update.

I received the new carpet. its a bit darker than I thought it was going to be.. but I think will still look really good. currently the carpet is in my basement and will look even darker in pics.. so you'll have to wait on those for the moment. I received the SEM stuff so I think some of the trim is going to get a good scrubbing/cleaning and dyed here soon! woohoo!

Still haven't pulled the trans yet.. soon.. very soon..

                          as for tonight! green beer!

                          • So I decided to see how well the trim dye I bought matches up with the trim pieces from the car. So I took one of the will pieces (its cracked so needs replaced anyways) and sprayed on some of my dye.. And its too light..

I took a leap of faith when getting the dye I picked up.. It seems like a couple people used the color "sandstone" for the plastic dye and said it was close but too dark. So I decided to give phantom white a try.. It looked really good on the swatch and sandstone still looked too dark..

Well here's my results.. Do you think sandstone is still going to be my best bet?

                            • The hard part in the comparison is that you're comparing it to an old, faded, dingy piece. I'll have to look at what color I picked out. I don't think it was either of those.

                              • I had chosen LT Parchment or LT Neutral on the same color chart. I can't remember exactly which one, but I felt one of those was a better match than the sandstone.
