Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

I keep checking this tread and thinking is that DAMN TRANS IN YET! Come one man get her in there I want to see if this thing moves on its own power. I am super jealous of the car, you must have a better in with Scott then I do
Good luck, nice work! I offer no help other then some motivation!
Haha thanks Darren .. Time has not been on my side lately.. But I do plan on getting the trans in today.. It'll have to wait until its not raining for me to drive it though haha
If you want the higher stall, flip it over a 5 gal bucket and drain it. Dump a couple quarts into it snd drain it again to rinse it out. Then prefill it before you put it in. Either way its almost stock stall so it may not even be a perceptable difference in opperation. If you suspect that there is contamination or debris in that converter , its not worth risking....unless you enjoy fighting with transmissions.
Well I reached into each of the converters and spun them.. The lower stall one spins freely and the higher stall is very hard to turn.. So I decided to just stick with the one I know is good haha.
I got the trans up and under the car.. Its currently on a jack and propped up into place.. I was having a heck of a time lining it up.. Frustrated the crap out of me.. Almost need two sets of hands down there..
I'm gonna give it another shot either tomorrow or Saturday.. Getting closer!! Sorry Darren haha
If my car wasn't getting prepped for paint I would come over and give you a hand! Then again I would probably just be in the way lol
thanks! nah you wouldn't be getting in the way.. the thing that is the most annoying for me is constantly having to crawl out from under the car and adjust the jack and get tools, etc and the crawl back under.. I think the other thing that was frustrating yesterday was that it got like super humid and everything in my garage had moisture on it which was pissing me off haha.
Good News:
Transmission swap was a success.. No leaks.. Goes into gears.. Engine now has load on it in forward/reverse gears.. Seems to be working as expected!
Bad News:
The rear end of the car seems like something is totally jacked up.. Making all sorts of horrible noises.. Fearing the worst.. I think the rear end is blown... I haven't taken the rear cover off or anything so not sure what's going on back there yet..
still haven't had a chance to pull the cover yet.. but was wondering your guys thoughts on swapping in a 4th gen rear end? found a posi unit with 3.42 gears with disc brakes for sale.. I know its wider than a 3rd gen rear.. but wasn't sure any other pros/cons of the swap.
