Took the car to Midland this morning - had to get my allergy shots.
Have about 90 miles on the clutch - it feels pretty good......but I think the release bearing is coming apart
I'll take a look at it tonight.2000 Formula

I just had a thought - it happens sometimes.
I probably just need to adjust the master, the engagement point probably is moving around due to the clutch breaking in.
Fingers crossed.2000 Formula

Working with Steve @ Monster/SNL about this - his support is amazing. I'm thinking it's just the Pro 5.0 resonating noise.....there isn't any feedback in the pedal, and minor vibes in the shifter.2000 Formula

Noise is the shifter.
Got the center section out tonight. Sucks the hardest part was getting the damn drive shaft out. The new 3.5" aluminum shaft didn't clear the exhaust - so the exhaust had to come back out.
Makes me want to just put my stepped headers on, fab a y-pipe w/flowmaster merge and put a dump on it after a bullet muffler.
Gears will be setup tomorrow night.
Found out why the 4.56's were so damn noisy - they had .015 backlash. They were assembled with .008.....guess an m6 car is just hard on parts.2000 Formula

Doh....I don't remember checking preload at all....nor did I have an inch pound torque wrench to check it.Originally posted by 1BADAIR View PostAlways set a m6 gear set to te min backlash spec. Also make sure the side bearing shim stack had the proper preload
That'll be fixed this time around.2000 Formula
