• Seriously?! It worked the last time I used it!

Glad you got it started! What did you end up doing for a tune?

    • I plan on shipping it out to BLKHAWK to get a baseline, then getting a proper street tune when the weather is no longer awful.

      • Almost there!

        Here's what's left:

        -Bleed brakes
-Cycle trans (to make sure the converter is full)
        -Trans oil cooler
        -Baseline tune
        -Get exhaust welded
        -Get proper street tune

I ran it for a little bit last night, and it threw a couple codes:

DTC P0100 MAF Sensor Ckt. Insufficient Activity
        DTC P0300 Engine Misfire Detected

Would these (particularly the P0300) simply be due to the fact that I'm running it with different cam and heads and stock tune? i.e., are they problems a tune would take care of, or do I have some troubleshooting to do?

        • I just thought of something: the first time I started it up, I didn't have the MAF installed/plugged in. I didn't clear codes after I got everything else plugged in. I imagine that not having it plugged in would trip the P0100 code. I'll clear codes and see if it comes back before doing anything else.

What about the P0300? Is that something that is generally expected after doing a cam swap? Or does that require some troubleshooting as well?

            • This is why you drive a turd 4x4 in the winter

So far I've got both Camaros stuck this winter just moving them around, the IROC on flat ground and high centered the Z28 on the snow buildup at the end of the driveway. Hell, it took me 45 minutes to move my IROC to my neighbors garage 100 feet down the road that day!

I wish I had video of the IROC. Fired it up and did a hole shot out of the garage. Got in the street, stuck. Spun it 90° while pushing the rear quarter when it was running in gear. Rocked it to the point it was moving forward and jumped out. Grabbed the rear bumper to keep the back end in line going down the road (still at idle in first gear). Once I got to the drive, laying down the floor mats from my Jimmy were the only reason I got my car into the neighbors garage

              • I could only imagine what driving the SRT-4 would be like this winter, especially with the tune!

                • I didn't start my car until I had a correct tune for it. Mine fired up with no SES lights, though I did have an o2 sensor that was wacky just before I sold it.

I would get a tune before running it much more. Even if its a mail order 90% tune, thats a whole lot closer than the stock tune.

                  • You're not running larger than stock injectors are you?

That's the plan. All I want to run it for now is to cycle the trans to make sure the converter is full. But that requires brakes to be working Once that's taken care of, I plan on mailing the PCM to BLKHAWK to get a baseline before doing anything else. Then I'll get a proper street tune from him later.

                      Nope, stock injectors.

                      • I wouldn't be afraid to let it idle on a stock tune then

                        • So yesterday, the plan was to bleed the brakes, cycle the trans to fill the converter, and move the car under its own power for the first time since the end of last May. Well I got the brakes done, and I went to start it...battery dead. The last time I ran the car was probably 2.5 weeks ago, and it started with no issue...could it be possible I might have a drain on the battery somewhere? The battery and the alternator are both about 2.5 years old, and the starter is brand new. We couldn't even jump the thing (tried with two different cars).

                          • Did you test the battery at all to see if there is even a charge on it?

Made sure all electrical connections are on correctly?

                            • I didn't test the battery, since I don't have anything to do so (and I'm pretty sure they don't have anything at the shop, either). And I'm (possibly foolishly) assuming that all the electrical connections are on correctly, since it started without issue last time I tried. There is some corrosion on my battery cables (not terrible, but still). What is best to remove that?

                              • It's possible it was just the cold. Mine died in my Cobalt in about half a month, though, granted, it was during the really cold periods with ambient lows in the -5 to -10 range...but still, I had started it (started fine) and let it run for about 20 minutes to build up a good charge, before that time period. I'm sure my alarm didn't help matters, but I didn't have it armed...it was odd...
