I talked to the guy that owns it now the other day. He said the car made 383 to the wheels. So that makes sense.

Wait, he really had a hot cam in that car?

How did it make that? Even the best setups are not close to that.

      • I know it has a hot cam. I'm just going off what he told me. Maybe Fred will come in here and clear it up.

        • Im confused also, did he make any change to it? Thats beyond even "ringer" status for a hotcam... Even 350 rwhp is an optimistic number for that cam.

          • My car was only a hotcam car. The new owner has a problem with stretching the truth. Sorry I havnt read the whole thread but my old z never saw those kinds of numbers. And its was a hot cam kot full exhaust the Cai with 4.10s wasn't anything to be impressed with. He's made no changes but not washing it and putting thrush muffler stickers on it so maybe the dirt and stickers gave it all that powaaa!

              • Did you ever have the car dyno'd?

350 is possible on a c4 but 340 is the higher end of the spectrum for foodies from what I have seen.

Im hoping for 330rwhp. I think a ls intake and even higher compression would get me to 350.

no i never had the car on a dyno, but i know what was done to it and i know how it still stands as it was dynoed. and i know the owner could catch a perch and feed you a story about how he landed moby dick. he isnt a bad dude, just young and impressionable. honestly loved my old camaro. regret to this day selling it. it was quick. it wasnt the fastest car around esp having been in much quicker cars i still enjoyed mine. if i were to buy another lt1 car i would have no issue putting in another lt4 hot cam kit. i would have planned more mods around it tho.

                  • No doubt in my mind youd hit 350rwhp with a lid, duals, and 11.5:1

                      • Went to the engine shop today to check up on my motor. They got it 100% disassembled and cleaned. They were shocked at the condition of the cylinders considering the mileage. Light hone and it will be good to go. There is no lip or ridge to feel at all, visually you can see one. Can still see cross hatch marks on all 8 cyl in very small areas. At this point I am planning on them assembling as much of the motor as they can/ I can afford. Im going to focus on "other things". At this point its ready to go back together.

                          • Got some stuff cleaned up. Painted the water pump and accessory bracket. Not sure if I want to paint the alternator or not. Need to get some plug wires next.
