  • Ive noticed that many people that seem to have this issue have stainless headers. Your pacesetters being ceramic or steel may be why this hasnt been an issue for you yet. I wouldnt go swapping it if you have no issues but it was a large portion of my steering issues.

Hopefully tonight I can get the alignment a little better and maybe even wash it before the weekend!

Stainless put out more heat than ceramic coated, so thats always possible.

              • Going with LT4 Hotcam kit. Looking to purchase asap. Does anyone know a place cheaper than Jegs? Anyone know of coupon codes?

                • Not going to lie, im anxious to see how a hotcam will react to some extra compression. That might be the biggest reason my car has walked all over hotcam cars in the mid range but then evens out near red line.

We will soon find out. I think I will be able to build one of the better hotcam setups around. Amazing how many people do the hotcam swap and dont even get it tuned/clean anything.

Its just time for me. I've waited and got other things done first both on the car and personally. It's now or never.

The only thing my cars really missing is a hood, cam, and paint job.

This winters build goes beyond just a cam kit too.

                            • Curious how this car is going to run. Never seen a Hot cammed car thats impressed me. Do you plan on taking it to the tack?

Ill say yes to this but A. I am just not near as competitive as most of you guys are on here and B. I thought Id have taken it to the track many times by now and have yet to do so.

It seems most fbody hotcam installs are either botched or not thought out. There are many corvette builds that are quite strong. Not anything like what Joels setup is but for a fun street setup it should be pretty darn FUN.

As far as other mods, I already got heads from Joel that are going to be cleaned, looking at true dual over the axel setups with a GMMG like exhaust.

Lots of "cleaning" items to make the motor cleaner. I am also going to get my intake cleaned powdercoated, cleaned again, as well as the throttle body. I suspect that needs lots of cleaning. I suspect random things will come up and I am prepared for that to happen. Pretty sure timing chain is going to be a must have after 177k miles.

Still need to get rear LS brakes put on, and some other things.

For what it is, my car runs pretty good the way it is right now, I just want to step up to the next level.
