Id like to have the fins on the intake polished, not sure how to do that though.

The rails can be polished, but for the fins its easier to get chrome vinyl stickers that make it look polished.

Polishing the intake fins are pretty straight forward - just a decent amount of elbow grease and sandpaper. If you use a dremel with different grit wheels that makes the job easier but at some point you have to switch over to a block of wood or something straight so you get an even surface. Once you get it really nice and smooth you can get a polishing ball for a cordless drill, add polish and go to town. That's what we did with my intake. Although we also used my dad's drill press with a polishing wheel on it - the drill press spins at such a fast rate that polishing took no time at all.

I know nothing about the company $1600 with no core. Looks ready to go. It would be hard to beat the price.

$1600 is pretty pricy.

Polishing the fins is easy.

Prep the whole intake, lay a 1/4" piece if tape across the fins. Basecoat the color you want. Let it dry, pull the tape then sand any off the fins. Then clear the whole thin. Then you wont have to repolish the fins.

Tomorrow I will be doing that. I believe it's a two bolt. I don't have that kind of luck, lol

A week late but I got the oil pan off and checked the bearings. Everything was much cleaner than I thought it would be. I almost feel like I could have got away with just cleaning the motor and leaving it as is.

Dropping it off to the engine shop today.

Does look pretty good - might have been able to squeeze by without the engine rebuild but who knows for how long. Might as well do it right while you have it out.

Exactly what I thought. With 177K on it I figured they would be grooved all to hell.

The main reason why I am having it redone is so that it comes back clean, so tired of working on a dirty engine.

Amen to that. I wish my car was clean again like it used to be. Grease and oil everywhere now.
