    PHB - 100

    LT's - 250 for painted ones
    ORY- 100
    Catback - 250 (at least)
CAI - 200-250 with aftermarket elbow
    TB - ? 150?
    Air foil- 40

Thats approximately $1400 all depends on whats used vs new. Thats not including lowering it or gears. IMO I just don't see in having a bolt on LT1 when I have a bolt on LS1...
Do you really need a TB and Air Foil? I put an air foil in my Firebird, and didn't really notice a difference from it. I thought you didn't really need a throttle body either until you upgraded the heads and intake, and you could even get by with a ported stock TB with that. . .

If you are willing to buy used, you can get exhaust, headers, and ORY cheaper than your numbers there, I picked up brand new Pacesetter LT's + ORY for $315 shipped, and I see cat-backs online all the time for $200 and under. Keep your eyes peeled on LS1Tech, there's deals over there all the time, ebay, here, and on the other forums.

I know bolt-ons are expensive, but if you make a plan and stick to it, you'll be alright. I bought parts for mine one at a time, then installed them all at once. Now, all I need to get is new tires, gears, and get my locker installed. I put those off because they were the most expensive out of everything I wanted to do to the car.

          • Another new update to this. So my dad is letting me "have" part of the garage/barn so I can work on this car. I talked to my older brother to see if he wanted to put some money towards this and make it a fun car for him in the summer. It would still be my car but he could have fun with it on the weekends. I have been keeping my eyes open for a used header panel. It will be nice to start working on this again in the summer. I need to make it more complete. Also should I put in some new pistons or throw the originals back in?

            • Come on man! 5 days with no updates? lol You need to keep this car. I live about 45 minutes from you, and if you'd be willing to help me out with some of the work on my '94 Z28, I'd gladly lend a hand on your project. I even have a few parts you may be able to use, and some tools you have mentioned you needed (stud gun, welder).

Sure, it's a "basket case" by some people's definitions, but you and I both know that you'll be MUCH happier if you keep it, return the body to it's former glory, and build the motor up so you can enjoy it even more.

Not to mention, it really doesn't matter if it's slower than your LS1 Z28, we all know they are completely different beasts. I've driven LS1 cars, and I still LOVE my LT1 for it's low-end torque. As it's been said, '93's in good condition are a rarity these days, and you can look back on this when it's all done and say, "I'm glad I stuck with it and didn't give up." Finishing a project of this magnitude is rewarding in itself. Being able to say you did the work on your own and spent time with friends helping out makes it all worthwhile. Some of my fondest memories are of the times I worked on my car and my friend's cars with my Dad and my closest friends. Nothing like those times.

Keep us in the loop, we all want to see you succeed. We're all pulling for you.

              • Thanks for the kind words!

I am still up in the air on what to do with it. I have been thinking of knocking out the body work, which could be done easily. Though I am worried about how long it will sit in primer. I can probably paint it at work one weekend but like i said I would be worried on when I can get it in. I am either going to do the body work or not do it (currently). Also whats the point of a nice body when the thing cant even move?

355, cam, heads, full exhaust etc etc.?

                or

355, long tubes, exhaust. New gaskets ect. Drive the damn thing.

THIS...easyyyy. Stop trying to make this car fast, that's what you have the LS1 car for.

                  • Sorry to bring an oposing view....
I think you should just part it out. To me is sounds like it will be a headache to put back together from the state it is currently. It will cost alot more than you think to assemble it and then if gets done, why would you drive it over your LS1? I say "if" because I know how projects work, my chevelle was suposed to be done two years ago.

The reason I sold my camaro is because I decided not to go through with my plan and once come summer comes around I would prefer to drive my cobalt as it is faster, gets better mileage, and handles better. Why have car if it is just another liabilty.

                    • I'm open to any views. Reason of keeping it around is the sedimental value it holds to me, it being my first camaro. Also as for parting it out, IMO I really won't get much for it seeing everything needs work.

On another note, how much would some rings and pistons cost? What brand? Where should I get them from?

                            • The engine in pieces is worth about $700.00. (I just parted out an LT1 motor). If you sell everything indivdually it adds up!
