    • Your trans turned out great looking Ryan.

Im still up in the air on what I should do with the trans, my mind is telling me do it now while its out.

Joel and my bank account think otherwise

edit: PCmforless said its $50 for a reflash on my chip

        • Any precaution I need to take before I unbolt the pressure plate from the flywheel? Going to drop off the flywheel to machine shop tomorrow.

          edit:

          Before-

          After-

Is that the throw out bearing in the middle?

          • evenly take pressure off the bolts as you go round it, and don't drop it.

              • You guys ninja'd me while I was editing my above post.

All of the bolts were broke loose (assuming when Ryan removed it).
                What's different when reinstalling it?

                • You have to use the alignment tool to line up your clutch disc and torque each bolt to spec, thats all.

I just put those bolts in hand tight to hold everything together.

                    • You'll need dorman Part # 14523 Let me know when you do the install and I'll come help. I've had my trans in & out 3 times in the last month.

Thanks Ryan. I'm still not sure if I'm going to do it at a co workers on his hoist or at my house (parents) on the ground. The hoist sounds so much better but I'm sure ill hit some road bumps along the swap and don't want to tie up the hoist for too long.

                        • I got the hawks3rdgen lower shift boot in today. Does it mount to the tunnel from the underside?

I also dropped off the flywheel to be resurfaced. Ill pick it up sometime tomorrow. I still need a dust shield. Ill need some misc bolts for sure.

                          • Nope, from the top. Seeing as it's a conversion you'll probably need to use self tapping screws.

Yep. Check out the pictures I just posted in my oil/fluid smell thread if you want an idea. I had to cut out the center section of this piece to fit around my pro 5.0

                              edit: actually here ya go:

                              • Do I need to take the 4 Allen heads out around the round base? Slip the boot over then reattach?
