Too bad he doesn't have a '94 or '95, doesn't cost anything to delete CAGS, only about 15 minutes of work and a bit of electrical tape.

On second thought, I'm not sure if this works on '93 or not, the website just says it will throw a code on '96+, only works on OBD1 cars. Might be worth a shot.

That's what I did at first, but when I took the trans out I used a plug to clean it up.

      • Don't see why it wouldn't work for 93 since its obd1, although, pretty sure ill have to get a new prom anyways since it needs to be set up for a 6 speed and I can just have them remove it.

        what are these connectors to?

        Drivers side

        Passenger side

        im going to guess
        1)neutral safety switch?
        2) cags?
        3)vss
        4)not sure

I failed at that, t56 newbie

        • one of them is for your reverse lights.

I never really bothered with mine, unplug, do work, plug back in

          Your getting close and closer.

Id buy some carb cleaner and clean the trans up really nice and paint it black with caliper paint.

that leaves #4 to be reverse lights.

                  • Sprayed the TA. Although ill be upgrading, it'll look good in the mean time.

Does anyone know the bolt size for the shifter to trans? I need them (4).
Should I look for a used lower boot or hit the dealer?

                    • Called Hanlon motorsports.

$289 for the basic kit, a little upgrade from stock
$400 for the "recommended" kit, includes bearings.
                      $499 for the advanced kit.

suggestions? I don't want to have issues when it goes in but I don't want to put a bunch of money I this trans too lol. Guess you can't have best of both worlds eh?

                      • How much of a bad ass are you when it comes to shifting? Thats about what it comes down to. Chances are none of those kits change any of the load bearing parts save for maybe input/output shaft, just shifting mechanisms.

Last I heard they discontinued them so you're gonna have to hunt one down.

I just know I have no idea what the condition is on the inside, aren't these trans's good to 450 ftlb of torque?
My tran guy suggested the $400 kit and be safe and replace all the bearings.

another noob question, should/can I give the clutch to the trans guy and have him install it? Along with the slave?

                            • Personally i wouldnt spend a dime on it and just run it. If it has issues pull it out and spend the money then, its not that bad of a job.
