refiring them as in turning off then back on? Yes, unplugged them and everything. Its just one. Maybe because I am having battery issues? Still figured it would turn on :/

well i do know hid's need a steady 12volts or more to work, my buddy has an avenger and it has a alternator that fluctuates between 11.5-13 volts and will actually blink a hid and can ruin it if u dont have a compactor. And my gfs car surges with the stock harness and i had to do the rewire relay harness. Its possible your chargeing issue could of killed it but i cant be 100%.

        • All of the Optimas that I had which only lasted 1-2 years were Red Tops - maybe the Yellow Tops are the good ones.

The thing ive heard is the red top isnt any more special then buying a $90 red top duralast battery. Its the gell cell deep cycle that makes the yellow such a nice battery...other company's make a self contained deep cycle that is 5 times better than that company's standard car battery in my opinion.

Been threw this to brian. All the red tops are junk. They either need to be recovered constantly or they just go bad.
4 year ago i switched to the yellow tops and they have been great. more exspensive but great.
The dry cell batterys from xs power are nice to and have a weight savings.
Theres some guy out there using maxwell capacitors and its doing great from what i here and only costs $30

                  • Best battery I ever had was a yellow top. I could leave my electric fan running with the car off and forget about it for hours and the car would still start.

                    • The battery tested good after a charge, he put a load on it and still turned out okay. Next guess is the new alternator I put on. It must be charging but only enough to keep it from dying.

                      • What is the difference between REDTOP®,YELLOWTOP® and BLUETOP® batteries?

REDTOP®: Use this for normal engine starting where an alternator immediately monitors the state of charge and provides energy to the battery whenever it is needed. This would describe most stock vehicles.
                        • Automotive and RV underhood starting
                        • Heavy equipment where starting is the primary function
                        • Diesel-powered vehicles with no aftermarket electronics

YELLOWTOP®: Use this when electrical loads are higher than average, or when the discharge cycle is more than typical engine starting, such as vehicles without alternators. This also includes vehicles with significant electrical loads that may exceed the average alternator output (for example, aftermarket audio systems, GPS, chargers, winches, snowplows, inverters, drag cars). This can also include vehicles that have a lot of electronics from the factory, such as a minivan with power sliding doors and a DVD player, especially if the DVD player is used when the engine isn’t running.
                        • Racing vehicles without a charging system (alternator or generator)
                        • Dedicated drag-racing vehicles
                        • Diesel-powered vehicles with aftermarket electronics
                        • Car audio/video applications exceeding 250 watts over the OE system
                        • Vehicles or heavy equipment with inverters, hydraulics, winches or other accessories
                        • Electric vehicles

BLUETOP®: The BLUETOP® starting battery (dark gray case) is to be used when a dedicated starting battery is required; it should never be used for cycling duty. The dual-purpose BLUETOP® (light gray case) can be used for both starting and deep cycling; it is a true deep-cycle battery with extremely high cranking power.
                        • Trolling motors, marine applications with heavy electrical accessories and RVs should use a dual-purpose BLUETOP® (which is both a starting and deep-cycle battery)
                        • Use a BLUETOP® starting battery for marine applications and RVs when the battery’s only function is engine starting

Note: The difference between BLUETOP® and YELLOWTOP® deep-cycle batteries is that BLUETOP® batteries have both automotive (SAE) posts and threaded studs, while YELLOWTOP®S (other than D31T) only have SAE terminals.

If you ever get confused on the colored tops, just remember: if it has a dark gray case, then it’s a starting battery; if it has a light gray case, then it’s a deep-cycle (dual-purpose) battery.

                        • Put the battery in. Let it idle for about 10 minutes. The battery gauges are still low. The voltage was (normal) at first. Them dropped after the 10 minutes of running.

                          seems like the alternator.

on another note, ordered a driversside regulator with a new motor. Since my motor is good on the drivers side and passenger is going out ill put the current drivers side to the pas then install the whole window motor and regulator on the drivers side. I'm going to have a body guy at work do them since he owes me a favor.

                          • One of the next things on the list is changing my shift points.
Where should I set them at? I already bought the b&m recalibration kit.

                            cam specs 226/232 .576 .571 110
If I recall correctly it peaks at 6200-6400?

Ill have to have some more seat time to see where they shif wot right now. I think my 1st to 2nd is okay. This is a great YouTube vid showing how to do it.

                            http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kXnQyfNVVJc

Ill probably have my buddy that did my trans help with it as well as adjust my kickdown. She is a slug from roll races above 45 mph. I think it's cause it doesn't kickdown to 3rd. Or it's cause my stall is unlocked, not sure.

I should be hearing from a guy on a pair of 10 spokes today. He is suppose to be getting me a shipping quote. Hopefully it isn't outrageous, I want to send them out to get widened.

                            • Took the car up to my friends parts place. Battery is junk. Picked up another used one from my friend in the mean time. All seems well, it was at 13.6 volts at idle.

Did a good much needed cleaning on the interior. Still could use some work but it was pretty bad and cat hair covered.

i think I am going to fab up some 16-18 gauge plates of steel and cover these up.

I also need to find a set of decent stock floor mats.

I haven't done an updated engine shot because it still needs a lot of work. Wire mod, bolts powdercoated, things painted and some cleaning that my dirt road does a number on.
