    • If your temp gauge isn't working it'd be the temp sensor on the driver's side head directly next to the #1 spark plug.

Is it a single wire sensor? I know which one you are talking about.

                • Question about adjusting the rockers. Is shoebox's reference of adjusting while running method for roller rockers?

                  • it is.

Personally I had MUCH better luck adjusting with the engine off. Engine running was way too difficult to judge IMO, and makes a huge mess. Take your time and get the pre-load right. I re-did mine 3 or 4 times before I was happy... it makes a difference in how the engine runs.

                    • +1 for the engine not running method. I have the ls7 lifters and I think I did the 1/2 turn for my preload, but you won't find anything that tells you exactly what to set it at. You will just have to dial it in for your engine, like Joel said.

                      • I did mine twice with the engine off. Started it and none of them were right. So what I did was engine running and just laid a rag across the tips of the rockers that way when the oil squirted up the push rod it wouldn't shoot all over the place.

                        • When we had it running yesterday it started up great and they wern't clicking. We had the valve covers off and the only time we got oil everywhere was when we gave it a quick rev.

                              • Well I know if you set to much preload you can collapse a lifter, or the valve won't open fully. If not enough preload the valve could float.
