  • Got the old nasty destroyed hood off.

Previous owner accident plus 2 years of sitting...

Going to respray all the brackets and bolts to swap over to the new used hood.

    That looks a little better

    Had to clean that windshield!
Once I get into the shop to do the bodywork and paint I'm at minimum going to clean up the rust and repaint the radiator support.

Actually the spraying is only 10% of a good job. It's all in the prepping and having a good setup (nice guns, clean air from compressor, clean garage or booth etc)

            • I know but when I say "spraying" I mean everything it takes to spray. I mean strip, prep, paint. It all. I'm not a painter but I know it all comes down to prep work. You could lay down the most amazing spray ever, but if you didn't prep right it will come to pieces.

              • Glad to hear you got the starter issue fixed. Do you have poly locks for the rockers or regular nuts on the studs?

                  • Do you have the write up on how to adjust poly locks from shbox.com? That's the method my dad and I used on my car and I think it went pretty smoothly. My dad has the stock setup and I thought it was harder on his than it is with the poly locks.

Yes I got it. I think the hardest part is going to be finding tdc. Did you guys do each cylinder individually or do the 8 at once, rotate the crank then do the other 8?

                      • I couldn't get it to work that. So what I did was the engine running method.

                          • What I did was do it with the engine off. When I started the car they were clicking. Then tighten them till they stop and 1/4 turn. I think it was BadAir told me another way, tighten them down so they don't click, then back them off till they click so you can hear each individual one at a time, then tighten, then 1/4 turn.

                            • I have a dynomouth and love it and get complements all the time. All i did is have a dynomax bullet (3") welded after my y-pipe and then bought a used slp loudmouth cat back and used everything but the lm1 resonator(muffler). I know you prob want to run true duals but seriously love the dynomouth and it has no drone like true duals. just my 2 cents/opinion for ya man!

I ran the dynomax on my 99 Z28. Wasn't the best, sounded good a bit raspy between shifts but overall better than stock.

                              Opinions?
