Sam (s.reef) and I coated the entire frame, rear brake drums, 10-bolt, metal area above the rear-end, under the trunk, in the trunk and the entire inside floorpan with POR-15. Shit was tough as hell, looked great and really gave a good peace of mind knowing it was there. The only downside is it tends to get everywhere, so be prepared to have POR-15 spatter on you for a week or two. Other than that, it's great!Gone but not forgotten: 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

I just got a price on ball joints.
Holy smokes! $60ea for the uppers and $30ea for the lowers. I didn't realize they were that expensive!
I really need to order springs but still don't know what to get. If I keep putting it off it's going to be warm in a month and I'll be cramming to get this put back in.
I called on the trans kit to find out where it's at... He said he should be sending it out this weekend.
I'm thinking of going with a revmax 3600 stall, opinions?2002 Z28 Camaro A4

revmax is not a company I have heard a lot about and frankly I wouldn't expect too much from them, a good converter will make the car its not a place to cheap out.Doing less with more

They are a new sponsor on ls1tech. Guys that have used them seem to like them and I haven't heard any issues yet. The guys on tech that say not to use them are ones that haven't tried them. I can get an edge for around $550 and a Revmax for $350. If I'm going to spend that much I my as well get the edge... Hmm contradicting myself now lolOriginally posted by DETROITMUSCLE View Postrevmax is not a company I have heard a lot about and frankly I wouldn't expect too much from them, a good converter will make the car its not a place to cheap out.2002 Z28 Camaro A4

Yeah, my motor is definitely not coming out lol. I'm probably going to go with pacesetters, but ima wait 'till you get the ORY and see how much it will need. I would LOVE to get SS headers, but we'll see what happens. Also, are you going to be able to get that oil filter off?? It looks super close to the headers in the pic. it threads out about 1/4-1/2" or so. in the pic, it looks like you have maybe an 1/8th of free space. But i know pics can be deceiving. Thanks for that site though, i'll have to check those out.Originally posted by mcalus View PostFor starters, thanks for checking out the thread!
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but por 15 is a undercoating, I have heard good things and bad things about it, I haven't personally used it.
I believe the website for the headers was ssaccessories.con. IMO, if you have some time to spend on installing these I would get them. The reason I got them was because my motor was out, if I needed to grind the k member or clearance anything it would be much easier. If my motor wasnt out would I get these? Probably not. Again, IMO pacesetter painted lts are junk, they fit great but they will litterly start to surface rust in matter of a month, I bet they wont actually blow a hole through in many many years.
I'm getting an lpp ORY this weekend and I'll have to see how much modifying it will need. I know the primarys are 3.5" on these lts and the typical ORY is 3".
All in all in the end I do think it will be cheaper, I bought these headers expecting to have figment issues.
The dash went to a good home
lol
MP81-- Are you talking about that white T/A with the blue wheels? If so, I bought his WS6 wheels last summer off him. That car is sick! Loved the way it looked. I glanced at them when he first became a sponsor, I'll look into it!
The oil filter goes on and off pretty easy.
A BIG BIG thanks to Jim (birdie2000) for hooking me up with a stainless ORY. Glad there are some good people still out there!2002 Z28 Camaro A4

PH-454 is the part number for the delco oil filter. It's around 1" shorter than the average filter. Kooks headers had an issue with the filter hitting the header as well.
As of now it clears the headers but who knows when it all gets mounted up.
I'd really like to try out a Revmax, I sure like the price
As for the springs, has anyone had success cutting a coil off? What's the real benefit of getting lowering springs vs stock other than appearance?2002 Z28 Camaro A4

for some reason, that ssaccessories.com has headers for every application except 93-97 f-bodies. Sucks. They look to be all LS1 now, or pre-93. They did have a 93-97 V6 application, but that was it for those years. And yes there prices are incredible. I really hope they get some more for the good 'ol LT1!Pacesetter LT's, Pacesetter ORY, full MSD ign., 2 step, rear LCA's, SFC's, B&M Ripper, poly motor mounts, Nitto NT05R's, WS6 wheels, KYB AGX adj. suspension, Eibach Sprotline springs, Trickflow elbow w/K&N, All HVAC deleted w/ delete panel, no AIR, No EGR

I was reading on tech that they might be sold out.
http://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-mo...cieved-11.html
As for the stall, I was quoted from a sponsor on tech for a stage 3 with the added woven carbon lock up clutch for $354 shipped.
ORY-

Anyone know where I can get a set of 3.5"-3" stainless reducers?Last edited by mcalus; March 11th, 2012, 02:43 AM.2002 Z28 Camaro A4

I found some reducers
Stainless - $60 for both
http://www.jegs.com/i/Stainless-Work...oductId=957622
Non stainless - better flowing, $30 for both.
http://www.jegs.com/i/Flowmaster/389/R3530/10002/-1
I was thinking of getting the non stainless and powdercoating them with high temp powder. I did my midpipe on my bike so it should withstand the temp.2002 Z28 Camaro A4

Got the old springs and shocks off. Going to sand blast the upper a arms and the springs. I have decided I'm going to cut the stock springs. Haters gonna hate but it will get me by for awhile until I figure exactly what direction I really want to go with this car.
Got all of the wires in the little wire bracket organizer things lol
Long story short I finally got the right hb washer I needed, got that installed but not torqued to spec yet.
What color should I paint the springs?
I ordered upper ball joints and I'll be ordering Bilsteins soon.
