  • Haha, nah, I love the exhaust. I have the 3-bolt flange welded to my stock downpipe, so that probably can be used. If there's a weekend where it's like 50, maybe I'll do it then, and run open downpipe until I get it welded and just piss everyone off.

    Thanks man!

    • Comparison between the stock manifold and the ZZP header

Stock downpipe and new 2.5" Stainless ZZP downpipe

      Something is missing...

This seems to be normal now...

      Stock vs. new

      Header installed

Downpipe half installed...need to have a 3-bolt flange welded to mate it to the catback. Using a ton of mechanics wire, a 16" piece of 2" exhaust pipe and clamps I sort of secured it for the drive up to flint.

And this is what happens when you cure your POR-20 incorrectly. I have to redo this now.

Fast forward a week, at my buddy's house to weld the flange to the downpipe

My buddy welding the flange/extension on

All welded and bolted up (got nice stainless hardware so I don't have to cut the bolts off with a cutoff wheel again)

      • POR-20 blows.

        Take 2 after I re-blasted and re-painted the header:

Take 2 after running for like 15 min at idle and a quick spirited drive:

Well, I haven't updated this in a while.

When I redid my header (only to have the POR-20 burn off, again), I put in my poly trans mounts.

Swapped in a new stainless Magnaflow (massive) resonator to replace the stocker and try and get rid of the rasp. It didn't, but it made the tone a bit more acceptable.

My buddy TIG-welding the flange on:

        Lack of ground clearance? Check.

Just for shits and giggles, here's what your cabin air filter looks like after 62,000 miles. Change them.

And the most recent upgrade, replaced the front speakers (which were shitting out and only intermittently worked anymore) with a pair of A/D/S 335is components. My dad put these in his E-150 back in '98, and just pulled them out in preparation to sell the truck. Absolutely phenomenal then, and still to this day.

Stock 6.5" vs A/D/S 5.25" woofer, tweeter and crossover.

        Passenger Crossover

        Passenger speaker all installed

Passenger door panel back on, with tweeter installed

        Driver side door speaker in

          • Thanks Jess.

Progress from yesterday. Painting a set of '09 SS/TC lights for my car (so no orange cover on blinker, just an orange bulb, and "smoked" lenses)

            Scuffed and taped

            Niteshaded side markers

3 coats of satin black Krylon Fusion later (complete with paint haze, haha)

            Mmmm

Just gotta reassemble and hope they don't leak. Do plan to run a bead of extra silicone on the outside afterwards.

Definitely hoping this paint won't smell the house up when I bake everything to put them back together.

                      • All sealed back up.

Ran some silicone around the outside tonight, so hopefully that'll keep them from leaking/condensing.

                          • Tails have been Niteshaded since a few weeks after I bought the car. I redid them last year and cleared em with a spray gun and automotive clear.

I still have plenty of other mods to do, rims/tires (MSR 045 rims with BFG KDW2s) being first and foremost in the looks/handling department, though I imagine I'll get my 32.5mm rear swaybar before. But there's always forged internals and a smaller pulley/twincharge...

Went home for lunch from work and decided to put the headlights in, haha.
