Looks good but don't you need the new tires up front?

wrong. You can feel when your front tires hydroplane, and you can correct it by slowing down and turning the wheel.Originally posted by SoulTerror View PostYou have a FWD car, you always put the better tires in the front.
When your back tires loose traction you are out of control. Look at all of the crash videos on youtube, most of the videos are of a RWD that looses traction and the person over corrects etc and hits a wall/vehicle, or drives into a ditch.
In my camaro when I would floor it in the snow it would start to fish tail, in my cobalt which has more power and less weight, when you floor it the tires spin and the front end shift one way but it is very predictable.

x2, the only time I had ever completely lost control of any vehicle was when I thought I was doing myself a favor by putting new tires on the front of my old monte carlo, even though discount tire highly recommended against it, they did it for me anyway.. Later that night getting on the express way I was ass backwards on the side of the road. Terrible idea.Originally posted by bri2203 View Postwrong. Yup.
And with what I saw on their sheet, I have 5/32" left on the front tires (I think there was about 9 or so on there when I rotated them to the front
), so I'm guessing I'll be buying another pair of tires in the near future, most likely will just get another set of these RE960s.

Damn winter...
So my girlfriend and I were heading to the store to grab food for Valentine's dinner yesterday, and hit a patch of ice and spun into a ditch...kinda embarrassing, but nothing big. Car was fine, just no traction. So I called AAA and they sent out for a tow truck. While waiting, there was a lady (in a Jeep Commander) who stopped to check on us and see if we had someone coming to pull us out. All of a sudden this guy in a '90s Chevy pickup with a blade on the front (local plow company) comes sliding behind the Jeep and veers to the right - in between our cars. He smashed into the Jeep mostly with the side of his truck, but hit my car as well. The Jeep's passenger rear corner was crunched (frame looked okay). It took out my driver mirror (had the window down, so it shot it all into my interior), dented up the door, bent in the fender, bent/scratched the steely, scratched and cracked up part of the front bumper, destroyed the driver outer grille and cracked the wheelwell liner in half.
Here's some pics:
From when I had just spun into the ditch:

Actually, we were both in the car when it happened. It more of pushed my car over than slammed it, but I'm just more surprised we didn't get cut from the mirror.Originally posted by OIF1VET View PostThat sucks dude!
