                • 8-gauge. Which is fine, according to my dad.

Same wires it's been wired with since I put the 10 in, which was like a year and a half ago.

                    • Once again...my dad did car stereo for 30 years...if I needed bigger gauge wire, we would've installed bigger wire.

                      • Wow... that wire is tiny. I'd go with a bigger wire just for safety, regardless of what your dad says... I've never seen a 1000w amp with that small of a wire.

                        • Yeah I'd up the wire as well. The wire might work, but it is probably choking the amp.

                          • Kenwood says it needs 10 gauge or greater.

Also - the ampacity for 8-gauge wire is around 50 Amps, which is more than the max current this Amp draws - not to mention, I'm not even going to see that unless I was running max input sensitivity on a bridged mono setup.

If I get a better amp, which I would like to (to be able to supply a full 300W RMS to each subwoofer), I will rewire it. The battery is literally a foot from the box, under the floor.
