so is that basically the FE5 suspenion kit?
yeah i was going to go poly mounts.. for to counter wheel hop... but it only really helps at the track... i dont get to much on the street...
that being said i would have ran a 13.6 if i could launch harder... of course all this was done on weak street tires with no pressure adjustmants..Last edited by Dummybait; August 11th, 2010, 07:52 AM.

Yep, 08+ FE5 Struts/Shocks, which are pretty much the best thing out there besides coilovers (GM spent a lot of money testing at Nuerburgring), 05-07 FE5 Swaybar (The 08+ actually has a 23mm bar, vs my 24mm bar). The Moog end links are thicker and stronger than the stock SS links. The springs are SSC lowering springs, which have a similar spring rate to 05-07 FE5 springs (I figured I could compromise a little bit of handling for better looks and a lower ride), and then the 05-07 control arms. So yeah, with the exception for the springs, it's all FE5 parts.Originally posted by Dummybait View Postso is that basically the FE5 suspenion kit?

I'm getting more and more used to the poly mount, the vibrations don't bother me as much, and seem to be decreasing over time. At first I was worried what other people would think, but then came to the conclusion I don't care what they think.
Yeah, my tires are definitely not helping me at all. 600 treadwear 195s are the opposite of a good tire to launch on. Not to mention, Ubly wasn't really prepping when we went last time...
Man, for having a bigger pulley than mine, you're making about 50 more HP and 36 more lb-ft of torque at the wheels than I am...I'm thinking my stock L61 manifold and downpipe are really choking my car - those are definitely next on the list. I'm sure I'll see another boost drop if I get a good header and downpipe. I'm sure the auto eats up power too...Gone but not forgotten: 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

as far as my numbers are concerned...what helped alot was using good plugs... i;m running NGK Iridiums... pricey but thats how i was able to get 27 degrees of timing while having zero kdr which helped a bit lol ... that and the fact my redline was raised from 6500 to 7200 in 1st and 7000 in 2nd -5th gear.. that was all on a stock exhaust btw... Tim at ZZP said mine must be a factory freak just like his... he dynoed at 264wtwq with my same setupOriginally posted by MP81 View PostYep, 08+ FE5 Struts/Shocks, which are pretty much the best thing out there besides coilovers (GM spent a lot of money testing at Nuerburgring), 05-07 FE5 Swaybar (The 08+ actually has a 23mm bar, vs my 24mm bar). i'm now running a 2.8 inch pulley... My numbers won't change much... boost comes in alot earlier... and my torque curve is a bit broader....
are you planning to do any work on the tranny..or drop in a 5spd? one reason Gm only offered the 5spd was because they didn't have an auto that would stand the abuse.... of even a stock LSJ setup...Last edited by Dummybait; August 11th, 2010, 10:14 AM.

Yes, I need to run a set of one stage colder iridiums. Is that what you're running? I still have my stock L61 iridium plugs in there and it spark knocked a tiny bit on my second dyno run, and dropped the power (it would've been higher, since we had a fan in front of the car the second run). Phil said I probably should go a step colder, and I agree.Originally posted by Dummybait View Postas far as my numbers are concerned...what helped alot was using good plugs... i;m running NGK Iridiums... pricey but thats how i was able to get 27 degrees of timing while having zero kdr which helped a bit lol ... that and the fact my redline was raised from 6500 to 7200 in 1st and 7000 in 2nd -5th gear.. that was all on a stock exhaust btw... It's a 4T45E, which is said to be rated to 300 lb-ft of torque. Vince at Trifecta tuned the trans when he tuned the car, so it has a nice firm shifts, and doesn't seem to have any issues. There's a few SC'd 2.2 Autos that have been running their setup for quite a bit longer than I have and have no issues.Gone but not forgotten: 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

cool.. actually i'm running 2 step colder plugs... um you can go to here http://www.zzperformance.com/cobalt_...=490&catid=143 and select the 2 step colder plugs...
you should be ok with 1 step... but i did the 2 step for the insurance as i have a pretty agressive tune.. with little or no kdr...
i assume that is Harrop tvs Htv1320 you have ?

No, I just have a standard M62 with a 2.9" pulley. The throttle body is ported, but I still have a modded stock intake (stock intake piping, with a cone filter where the airbox was)
$30 aint bad for iridium plugs at all. I wish they gave me a part number...Gone but not forgotten: 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

i believe 1 cooler is BKR7E so 2 step cooler are BKR8E i recommend that you run the 2 step cooler as i forgot you are at a 10:1 compression ratio as i am only at 9.5:1Originally posted by MP81 View PostNo, I just have a standard M62 with a 2.9" pulley. Yeah, I don't think it could hurt, though a few people that have swapped plugs in these 2.2 M62'd cars are running one stage colder. Phil said the spark knock was very minimal - though it was enough to retard the timing quite a bit...Gone but not forgotten: 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

ZZP recommended I go with one step colder. I'll throw those in and see how they work.
Where did you find the part numbers? Did it have the one step colder numbers available?Last edited by MP81; August 11th, 2010, 02:58 PM.Gone but not forgotten: 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

Yeah, that appears to be right.
What's odd is the stock L61 plugs are BKR5EIX-11s...so I'm thinking one step colder for me would be a BKR6EIX-11...Last edited by MP81; August 12th, 2010, 08:33 AM.Gone but not forgotten: 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z
