  • Nope no real news, no new pics. I'm not in a hurry anymore to get it back together.
I did take the driver and passenger seats out. I cleaned the carpet.
I bought some interior spray, and re painted the seats black.
They were a little faded, the drivers side more then the passenger side.

And they look like brand new now. I was really happy.
Its like a black dye in a spray can.
It does not rub off. The seats fabric gets a little hard once it drys. But take a hair brush to it...and its back to normal.
    Very happy.

Other then that, after this weekend, we should be starting to put it back together and start sanding it back down again.
I'm debating on getting new carpet, but not 100% sure yet.

      • lol....I'll post up new pics when I get a chance
Yeah the body is all going down to bare metal.
        Were starting all over.
Doors will also be coming off the car this time.
Way to many things I was not happy with.
And to do it right, it all needs to go to bare metal.
2-3 coats of heavy etch primer and we should be good.
Were going to do a panel at a time. Like a panel a day.
The doors will take a couple days, due to the shaved door handles.

But all in time it will be out in 2009.

Long story short, it took WAY to long to to the prep work on the car.
And the bare metal spots sat way to long without being primered.
I have small rust spots starting to pop up on my car.
If you look at the piant...it looks like if you dip your finger tips in the paint and then flick it at my car. Like little bumps. I seen it in one spot, then it started spreading.
Bryan said hell with it and took a razor blade to it, and cut one section of paint off. I wanted to know what it was and so did he. RUST! So from it sitting to long some spots in bare metal...it started to rust. Now that its primered over, painted, cleared...its starting to pop through.

I'm not happy. Bryans Body guy who did it was fired. Bryan was not happy as you can tell. (a lot of other things, but this just topped the cake!)

Now its going to be done the right way, just in the front drivers side fender, he had the whole fender filled with putty. There was 3 spots that needed to be filled a little. (the size of dimes).
LOL....so needless to say my car will weigh less by the time were done.

        I'll keep people posted.

              • This is what I was talking about...not really sure if you all can see the tiny bubbles.

That's what its all got to be down to bare metal and started all over.

Its all going slowly, But it's 100% beings done right this time.

Nope no silicone, rust from letting the bare metal sit too long before it was primered.

But we do have 1/2 the car done so far, well in primer I mean.

                              Thx Chris.
Yeah we didn't want to take the whole car down to bare metal, but we really had no choice after this. These little spots kept on popping up.
But the Matrix rep felt bad for us and gave us a really $$ gallon of primer.
about $160.00 for that plus the hardner. So that made things a little better.
