Sounds like things are finally moving along! Are you painting the engine bay as well?

As good as it might look. When I do swap to a 350 I'll paint it all black.

We are painting parts of the fenders (uppers) and the front nose that goes towards the inner part of "under the hood part"
But I would rather try to break it up a little.
So I'm going gloss black when I swap things out. Plus I think it will look better with the chrome/polished aluminum under the hood.

The candy paint really pops under the sun. So I wantd to keep it that way.

I am sorry to hear about your struggles with the paint. I can definitely empathize.



When we painted my car the first time we had a lot of issues including bubbling, cracking, paint match... mostly because I bought cheap paint among other things. But it seems like the stuff you are using is pretty good. Good luck next time you shoot.

Hopefully your car will come out even nicer than mine did the 2nd time...

thx guys, I can't wait till its done. But no need to rush now that we have all winter.

When I start driving it in the Spring I'll be a very happy person.
This will be the 1st car that I can actually say I had a hand in repainting.

wow todd that sucks.... but as you found out you gotta get just the right ammount of kandy!!! Counting the coats isnt exactly accurate because you can still lay heavier and lighter coats.
