People seem to be forgetting the possibility of warped heads.. anyone could fix the gaskets.. but new heads and/or having the old ones checked properly by a machine shop would be costly..

agreed! thats probably my biggest concern with attempting to fix it.

I believe most of that is sold or parted off by now, and plus Joel would not want to dump that much $$ into this project car.

yep not a chance. I'd have to get the engine for nearly free to even consider using my time on a swap.

Put it this way - I wouldnt even hesitate to part this thing out if i wasn't still under my parents roof. The fact that I am in my dad's garage is affecting every choice i make.

I don't think the heads are going to be warped...it's a lot harder to warp iron then aluminum...though it still is a possibility.

Is it head gaskets or lower intake gaskets?

What kinda problems is it having that you think its head gaskets? White smoke from the exhaust?

Fix it! Shouldn't be too bad. Check the oil, if there's no metal or coolant, you should be oka, but you know that.

Id throw head gaskets on it and see what you have from there. Cant take more than a day. I am sure you could get a few people over to help you out too.
