In the years past, it's been pulled in, rather than backed in, so the exhaust would just blow out, but I flipped it around after the cruise this year.

I did realize that I'm a bit of an idiot - where I installed the coolant temp sensor for the new cluster...is on the thermostat housing.

So it only works once the thermostat opens.

I think there's a port just forward of that, currently occupied by another sensor (I do have to confirm this), that I can tee off of and install both in that spot - that should work.

I have seen a spacer that goes under the thermostat housing that is tapped for a sensor. Don?t know where it?s sold though.

I want to say the sensor port I'm looking to tee off of is the yellowish one right near the base of the thermostat, assuming that is a coolant passage:

Well, it's a good indicator of if your thermostat is opening. And at what temp. So it's not all bad. Besides, when it's cold, or warming up, who really cares what temp it is anyway?

This is a good point - and yes, it opens right at 180. The gauge goes from 0-180*F very quickly, haha.

And to that point - I really only care when it's up to temp anyway - so knowing where it's running below operating temp is really a moot point, as I know I shouldn't be beating on it anyway.

What I have works right now, so I'm not going to mess with it until I swap the intake, since it'll all come off then.
