Figured I'd post some update pictures. Things have started to go back together, just waiting on some gaskets and the verdict from the trans shop. Bellhousing and trans have been fully degreased. Clutch, pressure plate, and bellhousing are back in.

Muncie SM465 (still covered in grease here):

    Installing the clutch:

    Bellhousing installed:

Just realized i forgot to get pictures from the oil pan gasket and the spark plugs.

hopefully more soon. i want to get the adapter and tcase cleaned up nice like i did the trans and bellhousing.

      Looking for opinions!

I want to do dual exhaust on this truck soon, but i cant make up my mind how i want it setup. Undecided on both the location and style of exhaust tip. My original plan was to do z28 exhaust out the back since it looked (and sounded) great on my 98, but not sure it would look as good on an older truck. These tips would have to be routed out the back to look right:

Also considering 1970 chevelle tips which could be routed out the back or possibly out the sides:

Lastly i can do the traditional slash cut tips, which could be routed either way:

One of the other considerations i have is i may eventually change to an OEM rear bumper instead of the one thats on it now. (And if so i might also add a hitch reciever).

Any thoughts? Heres a pic of the back of the truck:

I think with the truck being older, a round tip is going to fit the styling the best.

I prefer straight out the back - but gotta make sure you don't end up with the typical "TRUCK GOT DUEL EXHASTZ" where the tips end up on different vertical planes.

Out to the side can look cool if done right - and it's certainly not as common.

It's a true quality of "I HAVE TRUCK".

I've seen one that was the single pipe, nearly to the rear of the bed, where it split - in what was essentially a T-junction, which had 90 degree bends at the ends to the tailpipes.

                I couldn't stop laughing.

It looked like (and as crude as) my drawing below.

On a serious note. I had an 85 Blazer both pipe exited out behind the passenger rear tire with polished slash cut round tips. Looked and sounded nice.
                  similiar to this...

If you plan to pull a camper or box trailer any distance you won't want them straight out the back. The echo off the front of the trailer for is really annoying.

I briefly considered something like that for keeping the single exhaust, but if im doing true duals im gonna have one pipe on each side.

Kyle my favorite are the setups where the pipe is visibly routed underneath the spare tire...

Haha, wow, I've never been fortunate enough to see one of those.

Wonder what his reaction is if he gets a flat.

I've always dug the round rolled tips out the rear on trucks. I've really liked the Ram's bumper "cutouts" with the tips tucked close for years now.

I'd be really digging the Nascar exhaust square tips with a before the tire exit on each side

Im seriously considering ordering both the chevelle tips and some chrome bologna slicers (that way i have all three) and mocking up what i like best because im not any closer to making a decision
