Exactly why you'd better hope that it was Clorox or something similar, and not something...nastier...

I really like this shifter. Throws are short. However, some people say that they are tight and notchy. Mine isn't really light and notchy, it is buttery smooth. I had to cut the hell out of the lower rubber boot to get it to slide over. All I hear is road noise. Plan on fixing that this weekend with the help of some insulation.

Oh, sorry - I was trying to show the shifter cover

            • I'm going to be putting some 1/4 inch thick closed cell foam beneath the lower shift boot. From what I've read, it works very good. I wonder if it will work any wonders behind the door panels? It literally has no weight..

              • It may help with rattles. I don't know how much it'd actually deaden anything.

                • Rattles would be from plastic (or the attachment clips) hitting metal or other plastic. You'd have to insulate that specific joint, at the location of the rattle, to stop the rattle.

                  • Perhaps I'll be the guinea pig. The stuff isn't that pricy. $15 for a roll of 52in x 1ft

I just have to get off my lazy butt

                    • Yup, it might at least deaden the echo of the rattle, and make them a little quieter since the sound won't be bouncing off a hard surface.

                      • I just laid two pieces down in there and taped them so they won't move as much hopefully. It covers up the gaping hole I cut in the boot at least. When I get home later, I'm going to make the correct piece.

                        • Wow. Just putting those pieces there actually helped. Not much, but I can tell a difference

                          • Maybe I'm wrong but idk how well that dye will hold up with sweaty hands. Spend the coin and get a C6 knob. I have had mine in 2 of the 3 fbodys and I wouldn't get anything else.

Like a shift boot or the lower boot? I have the shift boot

I put the foam in. No real help. It may just be clutch chatter. No idea. It only happens when moving. I can have the clutch pedal pushed in and it still makes the noise.
