Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Is it required? No, I'm not saying it is.
Is it going to make me go faster? Likely not.
Is it beneficial for my need? Yes.
I don't want to over rev my engine or repeatedly hit the limiter and have it go kaboom. I've had too many god damn problems with this car, and I don't want to replace the opti, pull the motor, or anything else. And if I can safeguard that with a shift light, well excuse me. This is my first manual car. Scratch that, this is my first car. This car has almost sat more than I've driven it. I've put so much work into this car trying to make it right and now it finally is and I'm not letting multiple rev limiter hits ruin that just so I can find where it is exactly on the tach. Plenty of M6 guys use them. I shouldn't be gazing down at the tach to know when I should shift. I'm no expert driver.
I'm not looking to break the 11.5 bolt on lt1 record. I'm looking for consistent shifts. Shifts at 5600 every time not 5200 4900 5000 5600.
Excuse me if I'm being rude because I'm not trying to be. I just don't understand how anybody can't find this beneficial unless you are a god or have bee
n driving a manual for a long time now.
Come on Dan it sounds so cool when u hit the rev limitor!
My car sounds like turd when it gets in high rpm range! When I push in the clutch at 5000... ugh sounds like people dying and farting so hard it comes out fast.

Kyle said u were shifting at 4800
sigpicJust a slow 400 plus RWHP LT1.....428/370 NA
My first time at the track I was shifting in that range. Did some testing on my way home. Had the shift light set to 5600. Came on when the tach was at 6400. PCM said it was 5600 too. Did it again, light came on at 6000, pcm 5600.
At stanton, beats me what I was shifting at [emoji38]
But what if it doesn't want to be shifted? I was thinking about doing a run where I slam the 5800 limiter in first gear the entire run. That could get me into the 10s
I dont pay attention to my tach or shift light when im racing. Go by sound and feel of pulling past the power curve. The shift light is good for doing burnouts i know its bad when that light stays on
