          • The tips are going to be put on by the exhaust shop. No way Ill be able to get them centered. I also need some hangers and some welding done. Removing the existing bullet and putting a Borla XR1 in ASAP. I want to get the exhaust 100% first thing, then focus on all the other stuff. Going to try and get it into the exhaust shop this week if we have a clear day.

I honestly can't see how they could be any better other than if they were 1 7/8's. All the hype on LS1tech is completely correct. Slid right in, no issues at all.
Speed engineering is the company making the stainless LT1 pacesetter knockoff that people were complaining about in another thread here a while back. I agree though i think for LT1s theyre the best header on the market and it sounds the same for LS1. Looking forward to hearing it in person. Im even debating buying a new set now that theyre being made again and selling my used set which has some flaws.

From what I have read the race version bits perfect but the emissions version is a little tighter fit. I can fit my enter hand between the primary and k member. It sounds great.

                        • +1 on the LS1 Speed Engineering headers. If my kooks headers ever go to $hit, i'll be putting these in. These are quite a bit lighter than my kooks were, so probably a bit lighter guage and lighter duty design. Either way, for the price, i'm pretty sure these can;t be beat. flange was as thck if not thicker than my kooks. Bends were nice and clean, welds looked clean and solid, merge looked pretty good also.

                          • Got the old sweep off, you don't pull up you slide it forward or backwards and it comes off.

My new one is quite a bit different, it has metal tabs.

How do I get the new one on? This is not as easy as forms had me believe.

                            • good to know, maybe the left to right bit is why mine always pulls off.

                              • Turns out the plastic clips have to be removed, so that the metal clips can be put onto the door. Pretty simple if you know what your doing.

The stock LS style appears to use all plastic and screws. Im rocking the LT1 part on the car for now on.
