Happened again today. Very odd since we drove it all weekend and had lots of fun with the car.
Turned my car off at Shell, went in got a drink, came back out and fired it up, drove to the entry way to the road, waited for traffic to clear and it just died.
Pump was not priming. Waited for a buddy to show up and take me to work, tried it and it fired right up. Just left the car there, going to try and get it home at lunch. At this point I think its the pump. Any other ideas?
Should I just ditch racetronix and go back to a normal fuel system?1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 - 6 Speed

Couldn't hurt to call/email them and see if they have anything to say about it. Make sure it's not your vehicle's wiring first though.
I don't know about the LS1s, but I know some guys in the LT1 world swear by a stock Delco replacement for anything with relatively modest fuel needs (aka most heads/cam setups).

I would swear by a stock replacement if you could buy an entire assembly, problem is you cant.
I really dont think youll have better luck with what is essentially the same as stock minus a dedicated power feed.
That pump was used right? Might be something about using a used pump. I used a used ac delco with only a couple thousand miles on it and that one didnt last either.-Joel

I'm pretty sure for the LS1 vehicles you can buy the entire assembly. GM part #19301983 or MU2182 looks like it's the entire assembly for a 1998.

Did you reach behind the driver side head and check the grounds? I had a very similar problem and that was the cause.Doing less with more

Yes, all grounds mentioned in the thread were double checked.Originally posted by DETROITMUSCLE View PostDid you reach behind the driver side head and check the grounds? I had a very similar problem and that was the cause.
Just went back, car fired right up and drove home 100% normal.
This has happened earlier in the week with a full tank, and today with just over 1/4 (indicated)1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 - 6 Speed

I highly doubt you will lose any power. At most it's going to be less than the reliable range of the dyno.Originally posted by nascarnate326 View PostAlso, I got my cats. They look to be just what I wanted except for a rear o2 sensor bung that I will have to buy plugs for. Sad that I will loose a little HP but I think they will quiet it down a bit and get the smell under control. Cant really do much with these until I get the fuel pump issue fixed. Hope its not the pump its self.1994 Z28 - 2002 M3 - 2015 1.0T Mileage Accumulator

He's confirmed that already. When car doesnt want to start the pressure is zero.Originally posted by c0ncEpT View PostRent a gauge from autozone and check the pressure. I hate just throwing parts at something and hoping it fixes it.-Joel

Well the next step is to check the voltage at the pump when the issue is happening. If it has voltage and the pump isn't turning on than the pump is bad. If it doesn't have voltage you have a electrical issue.Originally posted by JoeliusZ28 View PostHe's confirmed that already. When car doesnt want to start the pressure is zero.

I can confirm that power was getting to the fuse when this happened. My trap door is glued shut so I couldn't get to the plug when the issue was happening. Of course it never happens at my house and it always seems to fix its self after you leave it alone for a while.1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 - 6 Speed
