Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Is it an illness like anorexia?
I guess that answer will depend on the persons goals and use for the car. A large percentage of enthusiast remove the spare wheel and back seat. From there people might install lighter wheels, fiberglass hood, remove the A/C and further measure to reduce weight. Most weight reduction measures have drawbacks-
no spare= do you have a plan if you get a flat tire or a blow out?
no radio= long drives will get boring if you enjoy listening to music
no side windows= wind noise and will get wet in rain
no impact car= your sacrificing safety
no interior/sound deadening= loud, rattly, it will be like driving a tin can.
etc
*Removing weight affects corner weights and will affect how the car handles.
At some point you start to sacrifice traction and the car will act loose. See the video of Hot Rod magazine where they cut up a C4 corvette.

Thanks for the links Gary. After I get some lighter parts up front I can consider a lexan rear window. But I doubt I ever will as they are not easy to install and they cost $390-490 by the time you add in shipping.
I did some math and for every 50 pounds I remove from the front axle it will transfer ~1% of the weight distribution to the back. I hope to get the car close to a 55/45 or better.
What wheels should I use?
-Stock 16x8
-Torques Thrust II either 16x8 or 17x8/17x9.5
-C5 Z06 wheels like Austin's 1987 car
I listed wheels that I currently have so I can decide what wheels to sell.
I can make money on the Z06 wheels. I think they look the best but I can use that money towards buying hoop for a rollcage.
I am undecided on tires, I think the Nitto NT-01 would work well but they are over $200 each and they won't last long.
Being that I am still a beginner I would rather buy a tire with a 180-300 tread wear that will last a while for 2/3s the price.
