Meet and Greet might be pushing it, but I'm trying to get it done by next weekend! She's soaking in "metal ready" right now... Paint will be going on shortly.

And got the cradle and suspension painted with POR-15. Heading there this morning to paint everything else.



Also going to be working on the front of the engine, and maybe mating it with the transmission.

Also painted the brake booster gold yesterday. Working on putting the brake lines back in tonight... wish they would have sent a diagram. Luckily we found a place that sells a book with diagrams that we'll be using tonight.

Well, we hit a minor snag with the oil dip stick. Engine builder forgot to put the press-fit dip stick tube in, so we had to pull the oil pan and order the tube. Picked it up for, NPD today (so nice they're relatively close) and pressed it in tonight. About to put the oil pan gasket back on and bolt the pan up. Then some touch up paint and we'll be ready to mate it with the flywheel and trans!

Other progress over the last couple days:
- all new front brake lines installed
- painted brake booster metallic gold
- new power steering hoses installed
- new wiring harness installed
- new front engine bay fuel lines installed/fabricated
- put the power steering pump on along with some other misc. stuff

Custom fuel line thanks to Kolin, we had to bend this ourselves as we couldn't find a reproduction. Turned out pretty well.

Some pics of where we left off tonight. Got the oil pan back on and repainted, then slapped the exhaust manifolds and motor mounts and such back on. Just have to throw the flywheel on. Bolt the torque converter up, then the trans and she's ready to go back home!

No, I did not know that. How is that possible? If the converter is inside the bell housing, how would you pull it forward to bolt it up after the bell housing is bolted up? I'm a trans newb...

They say that's the way you have to do it but honestly our first time we bolted the converter straight to the flexplate and then bolted the trans up. Supposedly you have a greater chance of having the converter not line up with the transmission shaft that way, but it worked fine for us. The second time, after the engine spun the two bearings, we did it the other way and it was a *****...
