Actually, I'm looking for a correct backspacing wheel for this car. 3 of them have the deeper "dish", 1 is shallower

Mr. Cash Money "I make it rain on MIfbody"..... cost too much = wrong. Yes a lot of people view us as "overpriced" when this is not the case, especially when you consider what we do along with the experience...

"takes too long" - Says the guy who has been waiting/building his engine/car since 2001....

Took the engine to State Motor Rebuilders on Thursday.

They're going to do the full rebuild, paint and all. Expecting to start on it in 2 weeks, and take 1-2 weeks for the rebuild.

Also, this engine has definitely been rebuilt once before - all the rods/caps were stamped 1-8. Hopefully we can re-use the pistons and just re-ring them! Also switching to hardened exhaust valve seats so we can run straight 93 unleaded gas without the lead substitute.

That engine stand is awesome! Let the guys know at State Motors that my car is still running strong! They probably won't remember my dad and I though

Hardened valve seats are not neccasary for your intended use.

When you take the reigns of such a vehicle, these sort of things just come with the territory

Still talking about it, but for $150 it seems to be worth it to never have to hassle with lead substitute again.

                                Engine Shop Pics!

My dad stopped by the shop today to drop off some bolts and snapped some pictures of the progress.

Heads will be going on tomorrow and then paint. Should have it back Tuesday (paint is out of stock until Monday)

Spoke with Richard about the stamped numbers on the rods/caps and if he thought the engine had been rebuilt before. He said absolutely not, the factory stamped them originally.

Also FWIW, we opted for the hardened exhaust valve seats for an additional $70...

If anyone is looking for a shop to rebuild your engine, I would highly recommend these guys. I'm not sure if they deal with LSX motors, but anything prior, they seem to be experts on.

                                Enjoy the pics!
