Some of you might remember this car from the Meet and Greets at Kensington. My Dad bought this car for my Mom, basically in pieces about 20 years ago and had it mildly restored.
Well it has some decent leaks and the engine is just tired. The goal is to keep it a good cruiser and not have to worry about reliability... and clean up the engine bay.
It only sees a hundred or two Woodward miles each year, and the old rope seals are likely just rotted out. Time for a rebuild!
Engine:
1. Remove
2. Disassemble
3. Send out to be acid dipped and machined
4. Paint / Rebuild back to factory stock with new components as required
Transmission:
1. Remove
2. Send to RC Trans and Gear for inspection / rebuild
Engine Bay:
1. Spray new satin black
Suspension:
1. All new bushings
2. New springs
3. Inspect brakes and shocks
Yesterday was day 1 of tear down and getting ready to pick the engine and transmission out the top. Joel and Kolin came over to help and in a few hours I think we made some good progress! We got the exhaust separated from the manifolds, carburetor removed, radiator removed and most of the wires, hoses and vacuum lines disconnected. Next weekend we'll remove the hood and pull the engine and transmission out! This car/engine is 100x easier to work on than a LT1 or LS1...

Looks like someone drove over the hood insulation before installing it...
