Glad to see some progress.. These things can get you down from time to time. I have had little issues with mine all summer, but I refuse to let it sit and collect dust. I cant wait to see this thing all put back together. Keep it up man!sigpic

Doing some work today...

Jon's answer to $197.00 in AN fittings

Windshield pretty much out. Just have to do some cleaning up.

Sway bar and wonder bar back in and right finally, thanks Jon, I was looking at it wrong.
I was going to keep my electric fuel pump and run a fuel pressure regulator (which is now for sale) but I was shocked what AN fittings would have cost me. So mechanical pump it is... bri2203 I'll need one of those socks you got jon can you add one to my pile?
Should have all the fuel figured out once my next summit order gets here. Now working on the distributor and plug wires, we have to make them, oh joy.

Don't sweat it Darren, I made a set of plug wires for my car in about an hour and a half's time. No big deal. It'll go faster if you get a set of pliers with wire crimper ends on them and will save you lots of grief and time. The tricky part is keeping your little tools aligned when you stamp the end down. My Accel wires came with a little two piece tool that goes in the vice and the other you hold on top of the plug end and you crimp it down by tapping it with a hammer and the two pieces from the crimp. Sorta a janky way to do it IMO, but it worked good enough.
Good work man! Thing looks great!
PS. I'm sure it's been dealt with already, but the new camshaft you put in that beast. Does it have a fuel pump lobe on it?

Well didnt get to making the wires tonight since we struggled with the distributor for too long. But got some other things organized.
Um I think so Jon, on the cam!? We had to install the rod in the block as well and everything seemed to be working correctly when rotating the engine over, well everything but the distributor dropping in....sigpic

Well did you specifically order it without a fuel pump lobe? Does it make pressure/push the rod when you turn the engine over?
As far as the distributor, put cylinder #1 at TDC and stab your distributor so that the rotor is pointing at the #1 cylinder when fully seated. As far as the MSD stuff goes, can't help you there. Haven't messed with that stuff.

bri2203 shed some light? Or curt!?
Jon (nullhead) no the cam was not ordered asking for no fuel pump lobe... Brian can shed more light on that.
Micheal, thanks! Few more changes since something's you see there won't work...

Didn't read up on all the posts, but different gear materials were used with flat tappet cams and hydraulic roller cams. Generally they are not compatible, but they should work in the beginning and will last a while.
