Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

yep that's the plan, the only thing that may change on the exterior of the car is the grille. Not sure if I am a fan of the body color grille yet or not. I may even change over to the grille with the fog lights... undecided about that part so far. Other wise yes its going to be new GM Arctic White with the red heritage stripes.
Yea I'm not a fan of body color grilles either. I woud go fog light grill if it was me. I thought about a fog light grill again but I think I'm just Gunna cut out my center section to help he a little more airflow to the radiator to cool my motor.
Gunna do the headlight buckets black or body color?
FWIW I liked the setup your old car had. White headlight buckets and black grille.

I liked it that way as well, but I also like the headlight buckets black. I will probably keep the buckets black and change the grille either to the fog light one or paint the current one black instead of white.
Worked on the car last night but just got frustrated so I walked away before it got worse.
Although picking these up later in the night made me much happier:
255 to wide to run in the front? If so then I am looking at getting a 235-45-17 tire for the front but they are going to be .6 of a inch taller, not to noticeable. But I was thinking if I could run a 255 up front then I would get a 255-45-17 for the rear and the taller tire wouldnt look that bad, if it was even noticeable.
Good idea to walk away when you get frusted, I have done that once or a couple hundred times.
You should be OK with 255s in front as the optional wheels/tires were 245, and the 255 40s 17 you picked up are shorter so that helps as well. But the offset comes into play and if you are going to lower it or not.
Take the wheels up to detroit wheel and tire or US wheel exchange and see if they have some caps you can pick from.
I run 255/40/17 all the way around on my Camaro right now.
As for center caps, I was going to have a my friend take round stock aluminum and run it on the lathe to the correct OD then cut some discs. I never put much thought into how I was going to keep them on though
Overall, are the rims in good shape? I was kinda pissed when I noticed that little blemish in the one rim when I was loading them up.

Thanks I will look into that, I was thinking about doing something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/BRAND-NEW-CH...item27c270c3e2 but making the chevy symbol Red instead of yellow... they are the same size as the center caps that came on the wheels and same push in style...

Overall yes, about the same condition maybe a little better then the last set I had and I was pleased with the way those came out. I plan on doing these one's nicer since I have time. I unwrapped them but didnt look them over to closely yet besides the one you pointed out. It really isnt that bad a little curb rash is ok for some used wheels. Thanks for making the trek and nice to meet ya although briefly!

Really? why so wide? I guess I will run these on front and a 255 45 17 in rear? How wide can I go on a 8 inch rim?
QUOTE]
On an 8" rim with a 26 ish dimeter you will be limited to a 255 45 17 per the tire manufactor. Unless you went with taler tiree around 28" you have other options
from what I have found online and measured about 2.5 inches in diamter and they need to be the push in style to work. That ebay link is almost what I would love to have but again not the yellow bow tie. lol
