I think those rims get a solid "meh" from me. They don't look terrible, but there are definitely much better-looking options.

Side moldings are OFF! Jon came over with his heat gun and they came off pretty easy but left all the glue and such, didnt come off with goo gone or adhesive remover crap either. Will hit it with sand paper tomorrow, got too sidetracked tonight to finish it up. Tomorrow I plan on getting the spoiler off and starting to remove the rear stripes. Body work will be in full swing soon enough.sigpic

Good question, havent really thought about it yet. I am either going to go out and buy a orbital sander tonight (or borrow Jon's) and get to work. Tonight's goals will to get the glue and such off where the moldings were and start on the stripes and maybe even the rough area's of the body too.Originally posted by TylerT/AZ28 View Postgood work son. what grit sand paper are you using. i almost got my windshield out im pretty proud of that

Was is the adhesive remover I told you about or something different?
An orbital sander or a DA? An orbital will produce less than desirable results with swirls.
We also need pics of said car with the side moldings off

Your just going to clog up the sand paper is you try and remove the adhesive. Might want to try a different kind of ahesive remover or maybe even thinner. Sounds like you made a commitment to paint the vehicle!Originally posted by Darren View PostSide moldings are OFF! I was just going to use a orbital sander to get those off and then block sand the whole car, would a DA be better? I didnt use what you suggested because I couldnt find it on the shelf anywhere. I used Mineral spirits to help clean the car then goo gone and this other adhesive remover stuff, it worked but not the greatest. I didnt take a good picture with the moldings off but I got one of Jon removing the passenger side (I need more lights in my garage).Originally posted by jetice View PostWas is the adhesive remover I told you about or something different?

Yeah I know about clogging up the paper, but really its probably worth a few sheets to save my arms and fingers from scraping and rubbing this shit off. On my old car they came off with ease! I havent made the commitment yet because where I did get the glue off the car it really cleaned up well. But I am going to paint the car, there are too many scratches that they filled in with a touch up paint stick that looks horrible and the clear is pealing on the stripes so what the heck...Originally posted by bri2203 View PostYour just going to clog up the sand paper is you try and remove the adhesive. The only set back is I dont know when I will be able to get it painted or who will paint it so, once I take the leap in sanding and getting the stripes off it could just be sitting in the garage until funds allow a paint job or until I try it myself or find someone to do it on the side.sigpic
