    T56 time yet?
I missed my chance to go T56 this year on a budget already, I was pleased with how my clutch was and the trans wasnt broke so why fix it? Then the T56 sold and I couldnt change my mind and now this happens, tis is life eh? I think I will do a T56 swap in the future but I have to be prepared for that, I would like to one day change the motor again and will need it for that.

What do you mean? Looks legit! I am going to duct tape that clutch back together put it back in and rock it true 3rd gen style!

In all seriousness I have this great friend who is doing WAY to much to help me get the car back on the road. I dont think she will be down long but for now she'll sit in the garage.

    • Classic case, $ or the lack of, have more influence over the way we do things than what we know we should do. That clutch was worn and ready to go.

What? Classic case of what, and $ or lack there of? What the heck are you saying or meaning, is this a constructive post? You're wrong that clutch is not worn it literally came apart and the manufacture of it agreed and is working on a replacement. The clutch is brand new with 4-5,000 miles on it. Do you know what you are looking at or talking about?

Also if they dont replace it not a big deal, I'll order a new one, stronger one and put it back in and be back on the road. So lack of what again? This is not a money issue at all so get off your high horse or stay out of the thread. Ok thanks!

Just what I said, If I rebuild a motor and have it out I would include a new clutch, the pressure plate looks to have very uneven wear in picture. That was apparently a really rough 4-5,000 miles. I thought my post was very clear, we all make choices that sometimes are $ driven instead of best logic.

              • What part of its brand new did you not understand? The whole kit was brand new. Nothing was reused. If you don't know what you are talking about. Move on.

I would not call 4-5000 miles on a clutch brand new. (your statement not mine). I really don't understand your defensive touchiness about my statement to begin with.. To put it simpler for you when we built and installed the 355 in place of the V6 in Brians 94 Camaro, it would have been a $ decision to leave the V6 rear end and not upgrade it to a rear end out of a Z28. We chose to spend the money and upgrade the rear end. Better logical decision.

You make no sense, I built a new motor, installed A NEW CLUTCH upgraded clutch not the old stock, I installed every piece with new throughout the whole process. Your statement makes zero sense and yes 4-5000 miles on a clutch is new, thats low miles, there is no wear on the pressure plate, you must not know what you are looking at. The clutch came apart the manufacture even said that and it should not have failed probably also the reason they are replacing a clutch that was bought in NOVEMBER of 2012 so they must realize the issue. So again, do us both a favor move on. You see this thread at the top of the list, dont click on it... You clearly are not reading what is typed considering you think something was skimped on.

Do yourself a favor and quit being so defensive. look at the uneven wear on the rivet heads, pressure plate was rotating unevenly.

Umm I posted a general statement about $ decisions and not good logic which we all are guilty of at some time or another, Darren went off on that, not my problem he caught up in drama.

You should post your "general statement" in the daily chit chat thread where people with too much time debate useless information. Your comments have misinformation and they are not beneficial to the goal of the project. I know you two have had arguments in the past and certain comments are more potent depending on who they are coming from and how they are said. Lets all agree to move on.

When does the new clutch go in?
