  • Talked to engine shop today several small ideas.

pushrod could have gunk in it causing higher pressure, as could rocker
need to redo the rocker adjustment when the motor is at operating temperature
lifter may have taken stock abuse fine but just cant cope with the stress of the hot cam

my crazy random vibration is 100% the rear e brake. Its not releasing like it should. If its not one thing its another.

      • I used LS7 lifters and measured for pushrod length and kept the 7.2" length.

        • I have the LS7 lifters as well and am running stock length pushrods. Didn't measure because Joel said they would work, and well he is the LT1god no issues though lol.

            • The difference is so small to begin with. I will order LS7's tomorrow and hopefully get them changed this weekend.

              • Got the lifters changed out today. Also did a much better job with the wiring and cables.

Sadly, new lifters did not fix the problem.

Still have a lifter or two that will not get quiet. Starting to think its not the lifters/rockers after all. Maybe something as simple as a loose header bolt? Loose spark plug?

At this point I am totally confused. To celebrate I went out and drove it like I stole it finally....damn she runs good. It feels like a fast muscle car for sure, just has a wierd noise around 1500-3000 on the passenger side.

Going to drive it and get my LS rear brakes on soon. Need to finish up the projects I already have parts for.

                • I think the next thing i would try is swapping your passenger side rockers to the driver side and vise versa. Sucks, what a pita this is being

                      • My ebrake cable is sicking at the caliper. I either need to get a new caliper (honestly pads and rotors are in need of replacement too) or put the LS1 stuff on that I already have.

Now that I look into it more I dont have all of the rear LS brake kit. Its going to cost money either way.

New pads and rotor and potentially a caliper for LT1 style or new brake cable, banjo bolts, blacking plates, and the inner drum parts for the LS style.

Seems keeping the LT1 setup would be easier...IDK what to do at this point.

Were they in good cond? I want to solve brakes on this car once and for all.

Decided I am going to finish the LS rear brakes because I will not be happy otherwise.

                            • Keep in mind the clearance issues with lca relocation brackets... Thats why im leaving my rear brakes stock.
