Trans fluid should leak from the tailshaft housing when the shaft is removed, it shows that the driveshaft and tailshaft are being properly lubricated, so thats a good thing, not bad.
Disconnect the front 2 brake lines from the abs block, one is on the top, the other on the back.

Also, regarding the driveshaft, paint it if you want, I didnt, the only reason to "upgrade" to an aluminum driveshaft would be less rotating mass. But technically stock for stock, your steel one would be stronger.
